When you buy a second hand car, you have to be aware of things that might happen.
Eg. You may buy a car which costs rm 10k less (ie rm 100 cheaper monthly)
Suddenly, A spare part which costs rm 500. That will add up 5 months x rm 100 .
Suddenly after 5 months you need to change tires. That will add rm 600. That up rm 6 months x 100.
Suddenly something you need to change gearbox oil coz it is due etc.....
Absorbers, mounting and every consumables will add up to the cost.
You interest rate is high and you do not have warranty, these will add up to your costs.
There will be a time when it will cheaper to buy second hand. But that is after you pay for all the consumables etc.... And you need to have cash.
4 of my 6 cars are 2nd hand. So i have changed gear box or gear box mounting, repaired aircon, spark plugs, absorbers, springs , brakes jammed, hand brake cable loose or broke off etc.... And if you like it, it is fun. I am an engineer. So it is fun when you buy cheap cars and customise to your liking. I do not have deep pocket. So at times, i take public transport.
If you do not like to spend money and time and do not have deep pocket, just buy new. Cars are much cheaper than my time 20 years ago.
