Your uncle is not wrong tho, if only for that purpose just get used myvi and enjoy the money saved

If new better bezza than saga, suits your need. Good city car, excellent fuel consumption but u might lose some features & safety available in premium saga

Between those two cars, don't get the Bezza. It doesn't even have VSC/ESC.

That could be an issue but can be mitigate

Bring your friends/relatives that have good knowledge with cars, look for cars with complete service records. 2-3 years old car still have warranty if anything goes wrong. 2-3 years old used car is the most value for money since the first owner already absorbed most of the depreciation.

Then again its your call, new or used both have pros n cons icon_rolleyes.gif

When you buy a second hand car, you have to be aware of things that might happen.

Eg. You may buy a car which costs rm 10k less (ie rm 100 cheaper monthly)

Suddenly, A spare part which costs rm 500. That will add up 5 months x rm 100 .

Suddenly after 5 months you need to change tires. That will add rm 600. That up rm 6 months x 100.

Suddenly something you need to change gearbox oil coz it is due etc.....

Absorbers, mounting and every consumables will add up to the cost.

You interest rate is high and you do not have warranty, these will add up to your costs.

There will be a time when it will cheaper to buy second hand. But that is after you pay for all the consumables etc.... And you need to have cash.

4 of my 6 cars are 2nd hand. So i have changed gear box or gear box mounting, repaired aircon, spark plugs, absorbers, springs , brakes jammed, hand brake cable loose or broke off etc.... And if you like it, it is fun. I am an engineer. So it is fun when you buy cheap cars and customise to your liking. I do not have deep pocket. So at times, i take public transport.

If you do not like to spend money and time and do not have deep pocket, just buy new. Cars are much cheaper than my time 20 years ago.

the question u have to answer is are u a car enthusiast or good in cars?
if no thn i do not recommend buying used car because u would not be able to identify the problem the car has and what part to fix

a brand new car will be trouble free with warranty, anything wrong with it just claim warranty via SC
and service all can be arranged via SC

Fuel consumption yes but you need to take into the consideration to ts, the 7K difference for Saga premium and Bezza Advance, that's like RM120 extra for paying off monthly payment. If I were TS, I'll wait for bezza facelift and check whether Perodua can counter what proton's offer. If not I would get Saga.

If you only intend to use the car for short trips, just get a used car to save your expenses.

You can't go wrong with a 3-4 year Myvi or Saga.

I owned a Saga BLM for 6 years. Good handling and fun car. Reliable and only need to change wear and tear, eg. tyres and brake pads.

My wife owns a Myvi for the past 7 years. Also very realiable, but handling is so-so.

Get a secondhand Axia from Perodua. Sell off later when you decide not to park at LRT station in the future.

If I’m not mistaken
Perodua has an official used car dealer

It’s in Perodua Sentral, it’s called POV
Go check them out instead

Sure the cars there are all 100% in good shape, no need to worry too much on the condition (if you’re not experienced enough in getting used cars)

I find that the prices of used cars at POV showrooms are almost like new car prices.
