I'm not exactly sure what's going on man.
Is this a real bull or bull trap?
I'm still waiting to see how bad the virus gets.
You can go ahead and buy without me.

Tesla delivery numbers coming this week. I don't know what to expect short term though.

Still too early to call the bottom. Long term I'm still holding on to my targets albeit slightly more cautious due to slower demand across the board.

Every where car demand is decrease.

Just SEA down 17%. Toyota, Honda, Mazda stop production this month in Thailand.

Trump asking US people buy car. That doesn't sound good.

Waiting it for dip. devil.gif

Overall car demand will decrease and Tesla will be affected. However, electric vehicle demand, I don't think it will decrease too much relative to ICE cars.

China has extended BEV license which is a boon to Tesla. Headwinds for ICE cars will be stronger. Challenging times for the industry, no matter what.

Buy puts rclxms.gif
Then use the money you make to buy the stock once it tanks.

Tesla has reported their Q1 delivery numbers.

103k produced, 88k delivered.

40% growth compared to Q1-2019, but a significant decline sequentially. Q1 is always challenging for the auto industry, moreover with the virus situation.

Significant increase in inventory levels too as Tesla used to sell almost all they produce.

Source: https://ir.tesla.com/news-releases/news-rel...tion-deliveries

Here's a comparison on sales growth compared to other competitors compared to Q1-2019. (source: unknown so take it with a grain of salt)

Tesla +40%
Kia +1%
Chrysler -5%
Genesis -6%
GM -7%
Toyota -8%
Hyundai -11%
Volvo -12%
Ford -13%
VW -13%
Audi -14%
BMW -15%
Lincoln -16%
Subaru -17%
Honda -19%
Porsche -20%
Acura -22%
Infinite -25%
Nissan -30%
Mini -35%
Mazda -42%
Mitsubishi -52%

Moving forward I expect Q2 to be very challenging. with a significant decline in numbers across the board.

Bright spots: Shanghai seems to be running at a 3k/week production rate and seems to sell well. Berlin GF4 still on track.

Long term still positive, short term can go anywhere.

Tesla to Cut Pay as Much as 30% While Virus Idles Production

Source

VPs and above get cut 30%, Directors 20% and the rest of salaried workers 10%.

Furloughs are also in place for non-essential workers but they will still have health care benefits.
