get those after Jan/Feb 2011, with the 6-speed gearbox. Car is on the heavy side, so fuel consumption will not be the best. If can find a good 2.0L model, go for it.
Compared to Civic year 2011? you can buy 2 Fortes + Full Service (~27k each) vs 1 Civic (~58k).
And yes, common issues are ignition coil (RM280/unit) + alternator (1k+) + aircon compressor (2k) + absorber link (RM125/each).
Handling is above average, and very nice to drive at highway speeds. Downside, outside road noise is not dampened well.

QUOTE(originalyolo @ Aug 13 2019, 12:29 PM) Any thoughts about Kia cerato? No idea about the Cerato.. i've been driving the Forte since 2011, no reason to change (but looking forward to the next Forte GT/Turbo). I did sit in a Cerato during a mall roadshow, couldn't stand the fake carbon fiber on the dashboard... however, the forums are saying that the Cerato has a much plusher ride compared to the Forte. So if comfort is priority, then go for the Cerato. Here is a review by our rally legend: https://youtu.be/A6Ou4K1QHz0

QUOTE(speedy3210 @ Aug 13 2019, 03:13 PM) Alternator can be repaired at Kwong Weng. Address is shared in the alternator repair thread in FnF section. Price is only a fraction of the new one. Aircond compressor won't konk just like that. Well known problem for Forte and all you needed is just send to famous Ming Wah aircond near jalan TAR Honda showroom and fix the regulating valve of the compressor for again a small fraction of the cost of new one. Great info... thanks!
