QUOTE(azbro @ Aug 12 2019, 06:08 AM) nusantara. selatan thai, tanah melayu, indonesia, borneo, singapura use bahasa melayu. The problem is with indon they use bahasa indonesia since independence and make other countries who use normal bahasa melayu difficult to understand them.i do think indon make a wrong move here. If they still using bahasa melayu like other nusantara countries, it will be good for this region. You see la indon, when they sing they use bahasa melayu, when they talk they use bahasa indonesia. |

QUOTE(westernkl @ Aug 12 2019, 04:34 AM) According to Constitution of Singapore, the single national language of Singapore is Malay, which plays a symbolic role, as Malays are constitutionally recognized as the indigenous peoples of Singapore, and it is the government's duty to protect their language and heritage. “The national language shall be the Malay language and shall be in the Roman script […]” (Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, PART XIII) Also according to the constitution, the four commonly used languages of Singapore are English, ChineseSo basically their national language is Malay but their main language is English or some say Singlish. That is why they still use Malay in ceremonial stuff, their national song and marching drill. But the main thing i wanna know why malls in Singapore is not like Malaysia. Singaporean can control their bladder n rectum more efficient, cant't they? 😅 Their toilet has limited cubicles like only 4 in every washroom For guys still ok coz we have that urinary bowl thingy but i pity the girls. |

You are asking these questions because Malaysia is structured along racial lines. Other countries do not find it strange at all - it is just part of their historical development and they revere it. But it is not something to die for. When you are 6-foot underground and rotting away, you wont be thinking about the % of language speakers.
The whole concept of having a pre-dominant race goes against the grain of most religions, including islam. |

QUOTE(westernkl @ Aug 12 2019, 04:34 AM) Because Lee Kuan Yew, as a peranakan chinese (his family came here more than a hundred years ago) recognized that this is the land of the malays. Unlike malaysia chinese who was born in Fujian, come here, act like he was born here then want to change history about the heritage of the land of the malays. LKY knows the history and he's a pragmatice person, not dogmatic like most malaysian politician that is same race with himThis post has been edited by RoyMcAvoy: Aug 12 2019, 12:00 PM |
