It is nice and seems to be small but one thing i disagree is the psu panel is placed beside the mobo tray which restrict users who uses aftermarket heatsink. just like in v600. but i guess it can be modded. anyhow LL website didnt show any internal picture of this casing.

think again

it cannot be modded to inverted atx no matter how skillful the pro modder is

wanna know why brows.gif

this is the picture of the old (or current) V2000:

tell me how u gonna: (in this case, we wanna mod the old V2000 into ATX style)

  1. mod the PCI Slot to be ATX style?

  2. mod the mobo rear panel to be ATX style?

changing the mobo tray is easy (easy for a pro modder of course) laugh.gif

but how u gonna change the two things mentioned above?

its embedded design, pre-drilled from the start rclxub.gif

now u know it tongue.gif

case that can only be modded from ATX to Inverted ATX or vice versa is a case that only have slideable motherboard tray

not with this "new V2000" kinda removable motherboard tray smile.gif
*
yup you are right E-J@1, i overlooked at the removable mobo tray and forgot about the pre-drilled structure of the chassis itself.. doh.gif .. but anyhow they make this new v2000 chassis for the purpose of the japanese consumer feedback isnt it?. looking forward for it to arrive at our shore on march 2008.

Then again have you watch the Lian Li HQ in Taipei...i feel like want to work there hehehe laugh.gif

yup, for the purpose of the japanese doh.gif stupida

what to do, japanese user or market is bigger than us, they couldn't care less sweat.gif

plus they will discontinue the "old" V2000 doh.gif

better they continue both "old" & "new"

at least it could cater both market segment laugh.gif

@ Hank Chen (Lian Li Product Manager)

if u reading this, take this into ur "consideration" of customer feedbackuser posted image

btw, if u wanna some new ideas that can put other manufacturer to sleep, PM me, LOL
*
yup i totally dont agree on why they have to discontinue the old one.... they suppose to just continue with both...
it seems that i need to grab the v2000 now before it discontinue... sweat.gif

*
you better take v1200 because it is more spacious and it can fit longer psu without removing the hdd cage like in v1000. and as uncle ianho said the price difference is rm50 more only

what the special things about lian li casing ya?
the design for me not look so good lorr..
and it also heavy rite?
*
Do some research first and try to google in the internet before you jump into conclusion. If you think the design does not look good that is your point of view. And if you think that it is heavy , you better think twice because the SECC body of your casing is ''even heavier'' than this aluminum casing.

other than double sided tape,
what else is good?
coz the black tape seems too thick...
*
Yup the black double sided tape is thick, you can take the white double sided tape. it is not that thick compare to the black one. smile.gif

QUOTE(akachester @ Jan 3 2008, 02:08 PM)
And i guess the WORSE selling point would be the LAN name?  tongue.gif  Still they are able to use Lian Li's accessories right?
*
For that name and lian li look a like design, i rather go for lian li only. Yup they can used lian li accessories. But for me i rather not used lian li accessories in it, because it feels like using lexus ls accessories in toyota camry. laugh.gif [even though they are from the same company].

But one advantage that i can say that 'maybe' for the price for this lan cool, many people who dream to feel lian li design chassis but couldnt because off the price, could opt for this one instead.

ps: then again the price is still unavailable right? and will it come to our shore? maybe someone will bulk it...who knows....

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jan 3 2008, 02:52 PM)
Slowly lar.. they ngam ngam launch niah.

I think using Lian Li accessories ok wor.... since the outside is aluminum anyways.

Besides, being steel also has its advantages in terms of vibration proofness.

I like the fact that they include the best bits from the alu range such their own chassis and the HDD soft mount into it.

Sure's heck better than the CM and SS approach of using a generic ready-made chassis and slapping on a alu bezel.

So... the sniper's verdict is --> This is a "Hou LANCool" chassis.
*
bro sniper on the roof, not that i dont like the lan cool,[ maybe because of the name hehe... they suppose put something like LILIAN or some other gimmick] but their debut casing seems to be nearly the same as the one in lian li. hope they can change a bit la or be more creative[ who am i to comment on that sweat.gif ] like the k7, is the same as PC-A06.

anyhow i'll be waiting for more unique casing from lan cool. maybe it can compete with other steel chassis brand. smile.gif

Anyone here knows the exact price point of the V1200? And the only difference between the V1200 and the V1000 is only their length?
*
it is rm798 when i bought it on november last year....dunno if there is any price changes right now.....faster join the club with me la laugh.gif . the only difference between v1200 and v1000 is their depth as what E-J@1 stated above
