The situations are like this,
800is
auto mode
ISO also auto
flash auto
when i snap a picture indoor (shopping complex , room,etc)
the back back ground will be quite dark.

if no flash (plus sharp hand) the pic should be OK..

check your flash mode, for fuji camera set flash to slow sync will make the bg brighter.

Not sure if it's same as my S3. In manual mode, enter menu. Slow syncro-->ON. Unfortunately, slow synchro will make your photo prone to blurring if your hands is shaky.

for mine with auto mode , u only can set the flash to -Auto - Red Eye Reduction - No Flash. thats all

Why don't you try with night snapshot mode under SCN?

use program mode and change ur flash to brightest, correct me...

or maybe you try adjust to higher iso setting..

The option is not available at Auto mode. At the very least, you have to use Program mode. And there is actually nothing wrong with your camera or flash. It is supposed to be in that way unless you set it to slow syncro.

that's because the background object is far and nearest object of course will get more flash light (that man with his daughter). nothing wrong with your camera as mengsuan said.

use slow sync and activate the IS also. coz it's a slow speed, pic tend to be blur.
