I am now visiting beautiful Chile. Flying from KUL to Chile is very far away.

Part 1 (KUL - SYD) : 7 hour 30 minutes

I took budget long haul carrier, AirAsia X.

At Sydney, I took a brief rest and looking around Sydney before flying into LA800 from SYD to SCL, via AKL. The awesome thing is that SYD airport to the city centre (say, Circular Quay) is less than 20 minutes by train. I stayed SYD to get enough rest.

Part 2 : LATAM, LA800, SYD-AKL leg = 3 hours 5 mins

After about a good rest and a look of Sydney, time for me to board LATAM. It was my first experience on south American airlines.

On board LATAM Boeing 787-9.

I got LATAM+ seat. Better legroom than standard economy seat.

In-flight entertainment screen background looks interesting, Sydney Harbour as the background.

Food in this leg is vegetable + cheese sandwich with fruits and drink of your choice.

Arrived at Auckland airport (AKL) for stopover of 2 hours before continuing to SCL (Santiago)

I am here for holiday, Chile was chosen simply because it is generally safest country, being my first time in south America.

Flying from ASEAN to south America is really expensive. From my arrival at the passport control of SCL airport, I can count that Asians, would be about 4 or 5 of them only.

As to twin-engine aircraft operation across southern Pacific ocean, the B787-9 has ETOPS 330 certification, allowing them to operate such vast expanse of ocean in the long distance.

My return flight will be Qantas 747, from Chile straight to Australia.

KUL-SYD-KUL : RM 1400 plus, AirAsia X

SYD-AKL-SCL-SYD : RM 4000, booked in LATAM website, a Oneworld alliance airline, but it also includes Qantas operated flight for SCL-SYD

You mean Bolivia? Bolivia - Chile does not have formal ties due to the War of the Pacific.
