to be true Canon doesnt make 1GB memory card, its either Toshiba, or other brands

even if that so, most probably the dealer sold the free gifts separately thats why.

issit? but opon buying, i saw the Canon deliver guy, they order the camera when customer wants, the dealer dont keep stock wan...
so, the dealer shouldnt possible have the free gifts, i'm pretty sure is Canon's fault rite?

just wondering, u got a copy of the ads? Is it Canon or the shop who actually bundle the item to you?

normally it is the shop who actually bundle these memory card, bag, tripod. Not Canon. But i know Canon is doing some 20 years anniversary. That's why it is good if you can scan/snap a copy of the ads.

If canon include the free stuffs right inside the camera packaging and you dont receive it means the shop probably took it out alrdy.

buy canon pixma i1880, got 1gb thumb drive as ads....

yes, it came out in newspaper tho....
i saw the ads in news paper.... and i've asked few shop, they also said free bag and case, but i didnt ask other shop if they have the stock on their shop...

Lesson learnt: always ask if you can get the freebies ON THE SPOT before you part with your money, unless the freebies are garbage.

I don't know about Canon Malaysia, but in Singapore, I had to claim my free gifts from the service centre when I bought a Powershot nearly 2 years ago. I think they too are fed up with the S'pore local resellers selling away the gifts separately.

you have to view things neutral. why are you posting as if you're insisting that Canon's at fault? Even the title of your thread blames Canon straight away but upon interrogation it seems that you haven't even contacted Canon.

AFAIK free gifts are not up to Canon to decide UNLESS it's really a sale organized by Canon itself. some items come with the package, others are bundled according to the shop how they want to make the package more attractive.

i am in agreement with what shinchan^^ mentioned. the shop sounds fishy, perhaps they're trying to play a no-stock trick until you fed up and quit? i'm not saying they are, cos we don't know but please - no finger-pointing when you are uncertain of anything.

best is you call up Canon to clarify things before even thinking of starting threads as such with misleading title as Canon didnt give satisfaction to customer!, They always owe customer stuffs.

right now you're not even sure whether it's Canon not yet deliver the goods or shop keeping the goods from you.

now here's what i think you could do
1. call up Canon and find out more about the FREE GIFTS whether they are supposedly from Canon or from the Shop.
2. call up the shop, tell them it's too long and ask for other items of similar value.

btw you must know that whatever that should come with the box WILL be stated on the box itself. anything additional, you have to find out whether it's Canon's offer or it's the shop's offer.

But the fact that some retailers actually sell of the freebies is true. I have seen it happen and have experienced it myself as well.

That was a lesson learnt for me.....
