Hi, anyone using any Stock Market Technical Analysis Software? can you recommend any good software? Please share the cost of purchasing the software.
I recently notice this software Algobox from Grandpine Capital.... i texted them but i was told to attend their course to obtain the software..... i'm not keen to attend any courses.... i have stock trading experience for about 8 years... i'm looking for a paid software that can help to ease my stock analysis/save my time...

You need to tell us what analysis you want to do with a stock.

There are 4 types of factor that can affect the price of a stock, the company fundamentals, the industry sector trend
and their competitor, geopolitical and global factors.

If you want to tract the stock prices minute by minute then you need some good technical indicators or volume price
analysis tools that can be loaded into trading software like MT4, Sierra chart and others for US stocks.

There are really not much of such complicated personal investor in Malaysia who want to do minute by minute stock
analysis that I heard of so how big is your portfolio and what frequency of trading you are doing ? Local stock, HK and
Singapore Stock or US stock you are talking about ??

If you do not write 1000 words on what you want and the approach you want, nobody can offer any opinions.
THere are many software out in the market so best follow want you want then what the thousands of therest of the
world can offer you.

If you have less than 200k pls do not do any analysis of you own, not worth the time unless you are fully retired
and already doing it full time for many years. That is my advice.

If you are born in 1966 now is 54 years old, why not spend time to relax and have a good retired life than to do
complicated things, unless of course you are a complicated person already doing for years in that technical analysis
and now looking for a software...

Look like a premative 1st gen stock analysis tools, go to MT4 or NT8 you can find much more better analysis tools,
some can even too automatic trading or copy trade. Please give up..

The above algo software is apparently a charting tools, so there is no good or bad on it. But I bet you can get
better charting tools then aglo in the market.

It also remind me the bitter experience of using old fashion proprietary charting software, Let me give you a example.
It you compared a accounting software called Quickbook latest version to any malaysian made accounting software,
you know what I mean..

There are no reasons for Malaysian not to support locally made software but by doing so we are 3 generation behind our time. We as traders need to learn from oversea software maker, join the oversea private traders to learn their failure and success and to move to 3rd generation. ..

For another direct example, does this Algo charting software support tick chart, and who is the datafeed providers
supporting them . NONE

Just go to stockcharts.com to find our all the rest of the world are using if you do not want to own a software. Because their model is a subscription based. Even they support Point and Figure chart which is the oldest charting method.

wow i'm so overwhelmed by your response!. thanks for spending time. you are so pro but i'm not.... i am looking for something simpler... those complicated tools to me is useless because i won't be able to understand and use it.

i really cannot tell you 1000 words on what i want... because i'm not looking for something that kind of complicated... laugh.gif

Allow me to briefly introduce myself and what i actually need....
about me:
1. about 8 years stk trading experience in local market...
2. i'm late 30s+++
3. Current total portfolio >200k++
4. just open Global account and plan to invest in US market soon
5. my investment strategy... i mostly buy stk based on company's fundamental and future prospect... i do not speculate, do not buy cheap stk below RM1...do not buy warrant...do not buy new company with no historical data....etc
6. i'm passionate about stk investment but i'm nowhere near pro... biggrin.gif

What i am looking for: (much simpler thing compared to what you are telling....which i don't really understand...so sorry...hehe)
1. a platform/software that provide more details on Fundamental ratio like: PE, PB, Gearing, cashflow, Dividend payout ratio, turnover rates, net margin....etc (i know many financial sites and app can provide these information. but in piecemeal... i always need to go to multiple site to get the info that i want)
2. Usually i only able to get the Current ratio.... i am looking for 3 to 5 years table for comparison.
3. Financial ratio, revenue, profit margin for 3 competitors or same industry
4. Optional: Buy/Sell signal alert. ( i do not familiar with this... i heard there are such thing?)

Thank you sincerely hopefully you can guide me to where i suppose to go.. notworthy.gif

I am sorry but things are complicated for even simple investor that do unit trust investment like contributing fixed sum
of money over a pool of stock and bonds. Please keep cash or fixed deposit if you cannot think complicated.

At your age, you should be busy building your career or looking at your child education. Unless you have a super hardworking wife to support your role as a father (hope you are married) then it would allow more time to do other
things. You have to allocated many hours daily to do active investment as position trader and if you are a scalper, you
need even more time. But your investment seems to be the passive buy and hold type. This type of investor is the
fat sheep among the wolf. Please do not believe that you can be lucky or you spend a bit or time to earn more than the fixed deposit rate can offer. Or worst still you think that buying a scanning software like Algo can help you select a stock and then it will multiply. 98% chance it would not happened. You need to do everything yourselves and rely on your knowledge and skills and not believe in anything others recommend..

What i am looking for: (much simpler thing compared to what you are telling....which i don't really understand...so sorry...hehe)

Is stock scanning a good way to earn money ? Even if a stock has good cashflow and earnings, there are many other
factor that can affect its price so I don't think so. Even Warren Buffet funds is not doing that well nowadays..

Like I said, investment in shares locally or US stock does not suit you because you are not committed as full time trader. For example US market opens at 8:30pm until 4:00 am so can you not sleep and stay aware for the whole time ? If you do that then your wife will probably divorce you...

Thank you sincerely hopefully you can guide me to where i suppose to go..  notworthy.gif
You are welcome but please do not go into something alone, get your friends into similar situation to do it together.
Or better still convert all to cash or gold at below USD1400 per troy ounce because it look like recession getting more
likely in near future.

hi,

1. i'm not complicated but i'm not innocent either...
2. i built and grow my portfolio from 4 digits, to 5 then now 6+...on my own...without listening to any kind of 'sifu', blogger, articles..... u seems pro and experience investor.... did i ask u for stk recommendation? no, and i won't. all i am asking for some kind of software tools recommendation..... for analysis purpose... for my reference.... don worry.... if any kind of tool that tell me to BUY..... i won't follow blindly.. that's the reason why i put "Optional" for that kind of features...
3. i am able to allocate many hours daily for stk investment
4. i rely on my own knowledge, limited skill, reading, my assessment, risk appetite...
5. i do not interested on FD.... the reason i have FD is because of margin account.
6. i totally understand a good AA+ company with healthy earning and cashflow will not guarantee the stk will fly ....if investing is so easy....everyone can be rich and need not work anymore.
7. i know what time US market open and close....
8. i won't copy Warren Buffet and i'm not interested to buy Berkshire
9. if recession happens i know how to cut loss and i will not hesitate to do it...
10. i like Gold... biggrin.gif

u think only ppl who able to dedicated 100% of their time should be here?
only experience investor should be allowed to invest?
we should encourage the younger generation to explore, to invest.... they will start with speculate, blindly listen, blindly follow, waste time, waste hard earn money..... but all these are learning curve.... if they stay on.... they will grow.... if they quit.....they fail....their choice....not u telling them to quit....
u see....Malaysia stk market mainly depend on govt glc, foreign investor, institution... that's why our volumes so low...and any tiny action/internal leaks can manipulate the market...

ok now can you guide me to something nearer to what i want? or you still suggesting i should quit? if yes..... i'm ok... i will delete this post and thank you for entertaining me this sunday. thumbup.gif

There are no expert or beginners in the area of stock investments, only winner or loser.

Investment and gamblings can be same and different depending on your approach to it.

Let say you scan a stock and it is good in many aspect, you then buy the stocks. For my viewpoint you are
gambling with your money. But let say you are not gambling but you got other methods. i.e. your cable is strong.

If you are working in a position whereby you got insider information, making money and growing your accounts is possible from 10k to 200k over a few months time, but you said you need many years to do that then I am not sure
how you do it. Maybe you the the few exceptions.

No I do not think scanning software like Algo is of any use. So I cannot recommend you anything or teach you anything.

But I can show you how to make money. Maybe you post again another time and I am in very good mood, I will show you video of how I can do it. bye.gif

There are only a few viewers on this thread so it is up to you to delete it or not I got no problem entertaining or sharing with you my point of view.

hi bro. dont give up. growing up portfolio through blue chips is the best. Malaysia bursa is filled with insider trading, operator controlled and challenges. i do believe in luck sometimes.however sound investment is always good

divested into properties (nobody to buy from me, price is just not right), pounds (changed all back to myr when needed the money), stocks (maxis is trusted,i dont know about now (holding since ipo),unit trusts (money stuck there). so pretty much you have a good thing going

i get what you want. an easier software to summarize different stocks through financial analysis. hope you find the right one
