Can you check which band it use? My area also no coverage even though im using unifi mobile with good speed.
Btw, if I subscribe to unifi air (sim only), can I take the router(with contract) later? I want to try it with my phone first to check the speed. Cant risk to take the router first because I heard to cancel contract need to pay a lot  blink.gif

Since without device comes with no contract, simply test and make sure you satisfy, then terminate and subscribe plan with device.

Today i received my unifi Air modem router for 1 month free. They called and offered me one.

Initial test the speed is decent (around 40Mbps), but not sure whether it will throttle later or restriction on P2P when promotion expire or not like what some users said here. Try the popcorn time (P2P movie apps) and the download speed is around 8-10Mbps despite the speedtest.

TM also said in the phone that i better cancel after 1 to 2 weeks usage if not satisfy, don wait for full 1 month to allow some buffer in service cancel procedure otherwise will auto subscribe later.

So do you think i just keep my streamyx lite 8Mbps fixed line or change to this?

Let's assume the price and speed stays the same, if you don't need fixed line phone and seldom game, you can consider to keep this.

Nice speed, my streamyx also problem, so i test Unifi Air too.
My home town just have Band 5, so i buy simcard only.
Test near TM Bands 5 tower, can get 20mbps around.
My home 2km far from tower, 2-10mbps around.
still better than my streamyx now.
wait to get B618 and will test again.  biggrin.gif

Definitely get B618, result will be different.

Do u guys think the 24months contract is worth it or should I just go with sim only? Because I accepted their free trial and got the b618 with me now, but I am only getting +-10mbps on speed test, sometimes even lower than my current streamyx 8mbps.

I am planning to just use it for internet TV, terminate astro. And keep the streamyx for gaming(lower more stable ping). I do have a Huawei E5377 mifi. Would that be able to hit the same performance as the +-10mbps of the Huawei b618 with the unifi air? Cuz it seems like the b618 can't reach its full potential here.

If your case, you may apply unifi mobile sim and try on your E5377 first.
IMO U can't get better speed than B618.
Anyway, 10+Mbps seems too low.
Try place it near to the window and test again.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Seems like the unifi air isn't worth to get in my area. I'm not sure about the billing but the guy calling me offering the promo said I can cancel it anytime within the 30days, which I am gonna cancel after seeing that it can't get any better than my 8mb stimix.

I wonder if one person can install 2 stimix line at the same address? Cuz if can, i'll just go with 2 stimix line instead of fluctuating unifi air (that can only reach 10mbps), one for pc one for TV. Ditching astro for android box. Then if later the fiber line reach here I can just upgrade from stimix.

Plus, when I asked the guy offering me the unifi air, he said if fiber becomes available later I will still be bound with unifi air contract, cannot terminate or upgrade to fiber.

Streamyx runs on copper, which require you to pull another physical cable from box.
Therefore you might need to pay for wiring fees just to have 2 phone line in a single house.
Not sure if result justify the cost.

received call from TM offer to change my streamyx 1mbps to Unifi Air.
so far my streamyx 1mbps is serving me well in streaming cctv live footage and if i were to change to Unifi Air, will the streaming still be okay? since it is wireless.

Any experience in streaming cctv footage? will it be laggy since it is wireless?

Latency is not something you need to worry.
As of what I know public IP is not supported. Therefore if your CCTV required public IP, not a good idea to take.
