Well, regarding the bolder part, I had said numerous times before in this thread and many others, they just nuked plenty of legit Thinkpad orders last month (mostly August order got nuked in September), after like whole month of waiting and sent out the bag/mouse.

So don’t be too confident that they won’t nuke this too. We can only pray for the best.

You can refer to the cinebench score there, single thread performance of i5 vs ryzen5 is about 160 vs 140; while the multi threaded performance of i5 vs ryzen5 is 500 vs 660.

And the Ryzen5 multi-threaded performance is very constant and sustainable even as the laptop got heated up, unlike i5 where you will expect a drop in performance as it heated up.

All of this are due to Intel’s slacking and delay in developing 10nm and smaller dies, pandan muka I would say.

Honouring of cheap deals are rare but not exactly to the point of unicorn rare (lapsapdah has 20% off uncapped discount before), but on a big scale like this (easily over hundreds or even thousands), it don’t happen often.

I will consider gaming laptop once they can keep the power requirements (GPU+CPU) under 100W, then I can run it through PD powerbank.

Else the battery life of gaming laptop just isn’t convincing enough.

I have a L340 running on Ryzen and 4+8GB RAM. May be Benefon can share about the type/size of PDF that he encountered the problem, I can have a try with mine too.

Discrete GPU have their own VRAM, thus sparing all the RAM to the system.

Integrated GPU or APU relies on the system RAM, thus eating into the amount of RAM left for your system and works.

Even basic computing or youtubing will need some GPU power.

Your system will reserve a portion of your RAM for VRAM if you’re running on iGPU/APU.
