I wonder how they do that? Selling more items Malay like? Or have discounts for Malay? Or name like Arab? How do they target specifically Malays without showing banner' Malays only' in the shop, I curious.

It's the name of the shop.

If i open a sneaker shop called 'Muthuu Lingum', i'm pretty sure you know what the target audience would be.

Why you need shoes when you spend whole day at home watching traffic accident videos.

Shop name is important. Ang moh also dunt visit Ah Kau cafe if they noticed another similar one named "Lucky 888" or "yummy corner"

Thats business 101 .

Why speedmart but not Lee Family mart?

Why mr diy but not Cina Power center?

I dunno about you guys, but most shopping malls with Al Ikhsan from what I've seen is filled to the brim with cainis people. Especially in JB.

The name alr put people off.
Feel not welcomed.

Moreover the authenticity is doubtful.
Rather shop at original brand store.

Let’s be objective about this. 10-20 yrs ago, before the emergence of Sports Direct, JD, ASICS, Specialised Adidas originals and Nike Stores ( well there were Adidas and Nike stores, but not as many as today) I used to go visit Al Ikhsan to get my regular sneaker and jersey fix

Nowadays, I look at Al Ikhsan’s product offerings and goodness gracious, they are god awful.

I mean, how the f one can buy a football boots with bright green and reflective colours on it???? Furthermore, it’s so hard to find shorts in the store, they have a lot of jogger pants and 3/4 track bottoms, obviously you can see their target market. There are too many low and mid range shoes on the shelf, and they cater for customers who just wanna buy a simple pair of shoes for daily usage.

Some of those sports shoes were downright fugly you can’t even tell whether it’s AA stuff or original. I rather go visit Adidas and Nike and JD where they have occasional limited edition and latest stuff. More niche products or collaboration goods so to speak.

No money how to buy?
Chinese are rich only in your mind.

I think the reason some tend to show off in public, posting fancy food or nice vacation.
They have a very good financial planning, saving and such to pull this off.

Others tend to eat warung or mamak because there isnt much middle ground for halal food.
Either cheaper warung/mamak (not cheap anyway) or expensive high class restaurant for elites.
You really wont see elites easily here.
Generally you see its easier to sell certain halal products to them, many products that not really useful but merely supporting friends or relative. There goes the money.

Looking from both side, you see why people think chinese is generally richer but it might not be the case. Just different way of spending.
