I was taking some flower pictures at night but the light from flash could not lightup the flower properly, hence I built this ring flash adaptor of mine.

the picture that made me DIY this ring flash adaptor:

So i spent some hours DIY this ring adaptor.

Basically, it diverts the light from normal flash to lightup area around the lens.

material used:
3 x liquid medicine bottle
1 x cover of plastic container
some tape
black & white paint

1. I did not take the step by step photos. completed prototype 2. first prototype was simply paper & container cover.

2. the adaptor fits nicely onto the flash unit with a soft snap mechanism

3.setup on the camera

4.test result from the setup (not as good as first prototype)

as promised (to myself biggrin.gif ), i hv added alu foil into the ring adaptor, and below is the result.

feedback & cnc are very much welcomed.

1. before modification

2. after add alu foil, all the way to the ring

3. flower test shoot, too bright, causing reflection of the lens on the uv filter

4. so add white A4 paper to reduce flash power

5. and the final flower test shoot; note reflection still present, more modification on the way
