Yes ppl. I got annoyed by the people who read the Claymore manga and been spouting spoilers for the anime after every post. mad.gif

So anyway, yeah this is for discussion of the anime only. If something not shown in anime yet and want to discuss what happened in the manga, please SPOILER TAGS. Thanks.

Ep 13...wtf la, they still never revealed why Orphelia going around killing humans/Claymores for fun. What is the organization doing? She got no handler? And now she awaken liow.

If its revealed later then its fine. But as of ep 13, its still not revealed and this is lousy plotting IMHO.

QUOTE
Actually Ophelia made good Claymore as she is very skillful and dedicated. Plus she got IQ, as you can see from her counter strategies. The Organization couldn't be bothered as long she is on their side.
If that were the case, they should've let Teresa alone too. But look what happened. Single digits killed or di-cacatkan, and one turned into Awakened Being. Rugi teruk or not, for hunting Teresa?

And the big plot hole as of now is The Org. The Org seems to be the one profitting from the Yoma outbreaks and Awakened Ones seem to be allowed to happen by them. I mean you go around wasting your resources to hunt a Claymore who has killed a human under unforeseen circumstances then end up getting an Awakened Being. This is either very stupid of them or the plot is too obvious and points to them being the evil ppl.

Keep this a non spoiler thread. If they do reveal stuff in the manga, and you feel compelled to share, put them in spoiler tags.

Nana Mizuki will be voicing one of the future characters in episode 15. A character called Riful.

My speculation is the Organization is more sinister than what it seems. But just a speculation, nothing else.
Dude that's not speculation. Its OBVIOUSLY FISHY at this point. tongue.gif

QUOTE
Certain turnover rate of Claymore is desirable because someone who is on the frontline too long will know Organization modus operandi and setup well. A secretive organization do not like the idea that their agents knew them too much. It reminds me of KGB and more close historical counterpart, the Knights Templar who later on become the Freemasons. KGB for overwhelming Big Brother feel and warrior monk like creed similar to the Templars while making money at the same time.
Wah lew you talk as if Freemasons Knight Templars and Illuminati are confirmed to be real. laugh.gif But as it is yeah they don't want their Claymores to know too much it seems and if they have outlived their usefullness they will be gotten rid off. Seems like they are quite expendable as well and easily replaced.

Geh the rest hopefully the anime will deliver. Cause right now i feel the whole Organization plot is too silly.

Lets see. Making lil girls into demons, mostly against their will (as gleaned from Clare's statement that she's the first and only person to become a Claymore willingly). Hiding the truth about male awakened beings (i.e. saying in the earlier episodes that only girls could be claymore when it is in fact due to males willingly becoming awakened that prohabits using them).

Yup, nothing fishy about the organization.
*
I wouldn't say it was against their wills, but more like the Organization had to pickup all these girls whose families have been killed by Yoma thus having a deep hatred for Yoma and who also don't want to be like them.

The difference with Clare was, Clare was the only human that travelled with a Claymore and accepted by one. Thus she knew how they work and what was their mission. (most humans are as afraid of Claymores as they are of the Yoma) In knowing this, when her companion is killed, she went to find an Org agent and ask him to make her into one, as opposed to the Org having have to collect girls who have no idea what Claymores really are. But the girls would have to wililngly fight for the Org due to their common hatred for Yoma.

Despite all the psycho-analytics on the mental state of Ophelia posted by Stormy, i still feel the Ophelia arc is convoluted and has totally no meaning and bearing to the story except as a plot device for Claire to gain her new ability, the Flash Sword. Alot can be read about Ophelia's sadistic tendencies and if i bothered, I can write a very long essay about why Ophelia is like that as well. But the jist of the matter is, Ophelia was just a plot device, and the mangaka either didn't bother to develop her story or maybe he did later in the manga and I don't know cuz I didn't read it.

Consider that nobody found it odd that Ophelia was able to kill humans and get away with it. She even preyed on weaker Claymores to make them awaken so she had reason to kill the Awakened Beings she so loved to kill. We only see her messing with Clare, trying to get her to awaken but that never happened much to her dismay. God knows how many other weaker Claymores she already killed in this way. (story never bothered to mention about this either) I'm abit disappointed with what little role Miss Ophelia played.

Anyway episode 14 made me slightly interested as it gives more clues to what the Organization is planning. Why is Raffaela (Rafflesia?) no. 4 despite being hinted to be very powerful? Irene was the former no. 3 and she admits to Rafaela that she would never stand a chance even if she had both arms. I hope she doesn't die. sad.gif Why the grinning shot of Clare's handler? Did he expected this to happen? Hmmm.

My theories on where the series is going:

The Organization's goal is to create "the perfect being", that is a person who can "awaken" but yet retain their human selves and if posibble don't get human guts fetish as well. Yomas are the by products of this research, being the weaker monsters that prey on humans but still controllable by the Claymores. People are told that the Yoma are demons who kill humans and then take on the form of those they have killed, but possibly the fact is Yoma are humans, just like Claymores were humans. The Org probably spread some yoma virus to selected people so they will lose their humanity and become Yoma. Claymores that become Voracious Eaters/Awakened Beings are of no use to the Org as they are considered "failed experiments" to achieve the perfect being, and thus are disposed off. Claymores who kill humans are also considered "failed" because by hurting humans, they are considered no longer subservient to the Org. The Org wants the perfect being that can be controlled by them, not a rogue Claymore that cannot be controlled and won't listen to the Org.

And thus was born the ranking system of Claymores. I'd reckon that the path to the perfect being is near, and all the Org requires is the perfect subject that shows that she can control her hunger to eat human flesh as well as retain her humanity. A pool of 47 (it might've been a bigger number in the past) Claymores are created and they are ranked according to ability. Claymores die and are replaced constantly. The Org's goal to the perfect being becomes ever closer with Claymores becoming stronger as each generation passes, and the weak ones are discarded from the "gene pool". Later on, there may be a battle royale of Claymores or a big cataclysmic battle will happen where either they fight amongst themselves or awakened beings until only THE ONE will survive. And i'm sure i don't have to assume that this ONE will be Clare. tongue.gif Theresa was probably as close as they can get to having their perfect being, but sadly she wasn't as subservient to the Org as they would've liked. Perhaps Clare was an experiment in hopes that she will carry on Theresa's legacy that's why they agreed to "put Theresa into her" whatever that means.

Also remember the slasher arc, all the Claymores there have "reversed" their awakening process and thus are slightly stronger than the average Claymore. They were sent to kill that Awakened Being probably as a test, contrary to Miria's theory that they were considered "troublesome" by the Org. All of the Returned Claymores (i'll call those that reversed the awakening as Returned) that were sent to that AB were killed until Clare's group was sent. That's what surprised that scary handler dude, that probalby one of them in the group is the person they are trying to accomplish.

Why they want to achieve this perfect being? Can be any reason. To bring forth the apocalypse? World domination? To make yoma as the new supreme race on the planet? Pick any cliche plot out there. doh.gif

I'll be interested to know Rafaela's story.

Also strange....i thought Claymore's naked bodies are supposed to be so turn off that it will make your lil bro shrivel up immediately. Probably wrinkled boobs or big scar between the boobs or something, as hinted by Theresa when she was getting raped. But Ophelia seemed fine. wink.gif

Same thing.

But I have to admit, whoever did Riful do a good job, she is exactly what I imagine would sound like from manga.

Nana Mizuki. More known as Fate Testarossa.

All other roles are loli side characters.

I don't think there will be 2nd season anytime soon. I suspected Madhouse will make a new story arc to wrap up the anime as they did with Gunslinger Girl.
*
Uhh...am i missing something because the Gunslinger Girl anime followed the manga and didn't have a new story arc. Just that that dead fratello arc was shuffled to be a later arc. Besides GSG 2 is confirmed. wink.gif

I was too shocked when Rubel said Galatea's head chopped off. Lucky it wasn't so. Galatea's handler looks like one of those awakened beings with the weird eyes and cloak around his body.

If all the aawakened beings have such powderful armor that can't be cut with their big claymores, they should have invented the rocket launcher by now instead of relying on strange exotic moves like Jeannes twisty arms and "yoma control" techniques. Those swords won't break meh? Haha.

When priss and bishie appeared , hah i knew that was gonna be the bad mofo bad guy.
