Oh well, as I said before, Madhouse will end the anime with anime unique arc as they did with Gunslinger Girl back in 2003. And they can do it well with Gunslinger Girl anime hence I am not so perturbed with Claymore possibility of different story ending. Not surprisingly my view is not popular with fans here.
Look, if the anime is not satisfying, there is always manga to continue the desired arc. I am sure Madhouse production team has their reasoning to do what they do. They seen Berserk and they concluded it is not the way to end an anime, or horror once known as Kare Kano . I would prefer there is an ending unlike Kare Kano which like completely stopped halfway. Personally, unless they get shitloads of money like Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex, there will be no Season 2 in near future. I still read the manga or I will still do a marathon on anime one fine day. It did not matter to me if the anime deviates from manga or not. The anime so far is good and the manga is also excellent. Entertainment is entertainment, so is anime once known as Claymore. As for Raki haters in this forum: Raki is our mirror into frightening world of Claymore. He is our foil to inhumane war between 2 non human sides with human flesh as collateral. In narration, shall he survive, he will magnify the tragedy of story more audibly to audience since we all can identify with him the most. A poem of tragedy that is similar to Japanese Private Shimizu in Letters from Iwojima or Private Ryan in Saving Private Ryan. He is the human link and presence that brightens up Claire's bleak life and fate. In the manga, this aspect is more noticeable. There is reason why she is willing to protect him at all cost and have emotional attachment that is transcending normal relationship. Because he is too normal and "not a bad ass". A lot of people missing the point of Claymore by despising Raki, it is not about how bad ass the youma killers can be but it is slow, purposeful narration of human feelings and relationship in horrible scenario like the Claymore world. Too many people live on generalization that males must be strong which Raki is absolutely opposite to this conceived idea. Hence all the brickbats at the character. Then you 2 completely miss the salient point of the anime. Why wasting time with Claymore then? There is many fan service ass kicking hot chicks anime like Bakuretsu Tenshi or Coyote Ragtime Show.
Claymore is about sisterhood of arms in war and personal relationships of principal players, Claire, Priscillia and Raki. Not action. This post has been edited by Stormy001_M1A2: Aug 16 2007, 09:01 PM |

LoL wut?
Luckily I have my own perspective on liking Claymore, and Raki is NOT one of them. Relationship? Perhaps. Sisterhood? Probably. How Claire and other evolves? Oh yes. Generally, the storyline itself is why am liking Claymore, but to say Raki as the fire? heh, hes not even a spark to begin with IMO. I can safely assume that nobody here thinks heavily or seriously on how the fuc* Raki is in the claymore world like you do. In the beginning, Raki's scenes were quite alot, yet after the no.4 incident when Raki says bui bui to Clare, things getting better and better. Heck, you dont see me whining about him nomore. I enjoyed it more AFTER he was gone. But in the future manga chapters, my opinion might differ tho. Saying wasting time with Claymore just because they missed YOUR point is rubbish. |

Are you serious when you asking me that? Taken from another forum: "-Ep.1-2: These two episodes are completely focused on how Raki becomes attached to a Claymore. Notice how the storyline is being presented through Raki's point of view, considering that we (the audience) are completely clueless about Claymores, just like Raki. Thus we learn about the Claymores with him and through him. Interesting how it was Raki who introduces us to Claymores. -Ep.3-4: These are the episodes that gets the ball rolling, and its all because of Raki. Why was Clare sent to Rabona? Because she has Raki with her and thus is the best choice to send her disguised in Rabona without raising any suspicion. Without Raki she would have never been sent to Rabona, thus she would have never half awakened. Not to mention that it was because of Raki that she was able come back after passing her limit. -Ep.5-8: Although, this episode does not have anything to do with Raki, it does point out Clare's and Teresa's relationship, which is used as reference as to why Clare let Raki join her in the first place. See the connection? -Ep.9-11: Now these are the episode where Clare was supposed to be disposed off because she half awakened. And who's fault is that? Raki's of course. Raki was the reason why she was able to half awaken and thus is the reason why she is being disposed off. Notice how Raki is pulling the threads of the storyline thus far? -Ep.12-14: So how does Raki pull the threads in this episode? He is the reason why Clare was able to escape Ophelia, and thus bumping into Irene. Without Raki, Ophelia would have had her way with Clare, which would have been quite interesting though. -Ep.15-17: Now this one is BIG. Another key driving force in the storyline is Clare's urge to take revenge on Priscilla. But in these episodes she abandoned that notation for the sake of finding Raki. Once again, Raki is pulling all the threads. In other words, Raki is more important then Clare's revenge on Priscilla. -Ep.18-19: Raki plus Clare plus Priscilla...with Raki stuck in the middle...need I say more? For the record, I think it's alright if someone hates Raki, but I think its important to recognize how important he is in this storyline. If Raki where to die right now, there wouldn't be much to the storyline anymore considering he is such key component that's moving the storyline forward." This is basically why I see Raki as principal player of the story. Look, if you still insist Raki has no place in the story, it is fine. Do remember though, what makes a sword deadly is not just the hard steel, it is soft core that allows it to be strong sword. This post has been edited by Stormy001_M1A2: Aug 17 2007, 02:48 AM |
