Newbie question, how can i connect my iMac (intel) to external Speaker?. What cable do i need to buy, because what i have search before need to connect to optical output (port jack 'Headphone' at the back of iMac), but my speaker/subwoofer have only two port, white and red.
And another thing, do i need to configure something in Mac OS in order to use external speaker and disable the built-in speakers?
By the way im using Edifier speaker.
Anybody plz?

What you will need is called a "mini to RCA" cable. It looks something like this. Sri Computer has them for around RM5-10 (depending on length). http://kkc.k12.hi.us/tutorials/sound/images/minirca.jpg

You're welcome. That is pretty much it. Connect to headphone jack and you are done.
