I am not sure how wide is the gap you have mentioned but my P30 Pro gap is wide enough to allow an A4 paper to slide in but not fully slide in la...

That's is how mine as well. Just a small corner of A4 slide in.
You just bought your p30 pro? Could it be all new batch is like this? As other member here doesn't seem to have this issue

mine were 2~3 months, maybe you go to any shop with demo set to confirm.. i would like to know too

Went to pavilion SC, they did check on all p30 and pro. The results are random. Some have gaps whilst some not.
Some more ask me if I service outside of Huawei SC, saying the seal tape "seems like" tampered.
At the end they open and put a new seal tape. The gap is now very very very small after the new seal tape.

Is some glue inside the cover. I can't see.
Conclusion is Huawei QC a bit bad... Their precision of the cutting off the assembly is not top notch for a flagship.

You should be able to get it via hi care. It comes with Dec security patch.
