I think malaysia pay software developer quite low, the max cap is 15k ringgit which is pathetic compared to many country. I don't see many still write code after 30, many climb to manager or PM or start own startup. Is there any solution for this problem?

SG is the fairer place where if you have high level skillset and your pay will be higher, this regardless where you come from. What you claimed is all about the work normal type and of course they see you as 2nd class...

Did you read? He got 8 years exp but never want to be promoted to lead. I only knew because is saw his salary slip in the HR room accidentally. He stayed in SG for 4 years before the company was short of staff they had to ask someone from SG to transfer. So he took the lead and transferred to Malaysia.

So? Your point is? I cannot know someone who is well to do. Or is it because you feel so insecure knowing that you don't earn as much as my friends does? Lol dude. Here the thing I get from all your post though: you are one big insecure dude who lives his life on the internet. What I earn is not your problem. I earn above average for my age and experience which is good enough for me. How much is the amount? You can go search the average salary of a 4 years Software developer and figure out on your own. K bye

you can only go so far doing just "code writing". eventually you'll reach a ceiling and to have more growth you would need to branch out to other aspects like design, architecture, etc
think of it this way, code writing are like brick layers. you could be the best brick layer there ever is but you wont be able to build a nice house if you have zero idea on architecture and design.

The salary is justified la. He knows everything about Java dude. The dude is the walking index of Java library. Literally everything. Plus it was a banking project. One project they rake in like 8~12 Mil. Make sense why they pay him so much. He was the key guy of the whole project.

Japan is not worth it r bro. The people there also suicide like mad. The money u get is offset by your spending everyday. So literally you go there to be in the same boat you are in Malaysia. It's like Hong Kong. HK also pays really well. But the cost of living. Fuhhh..

Are you referring "their culture" as in their work culture only, or general overall?

Your friend had been underpaid for 5 years experiences as software developer. Most of the freshie get 2.8-3.5k as software engineer now. Or perhaps he is at rural area, salary might be lesser compare with KL/Selangor etc.. rolleyes.gif
