Campro memang easy to hit high speed, easier than to hit 0-100. After 100 it doesn't take much effort to go further.
But each campro has their quirks lah, ex : 0 low end torque for first gen campro (black top) then IAFM keep rosak for campro IAFM
CPS I'm not so sure, quite an attractive engine imo especially paired with Proton's 5 speed Manual.

TS, biar betul. If I hear the signature teppet sound, I know it's a Campro engine nearby.
How many top overhaul due to that? Taxi drivers will be the first to tell you Campro engine is 'weak'.
Campro might just be good enough for those who service and maintain their engines well, but once you use them in high heat environment (like fitting in NGV in taxis) or don't follow maintenance schedule religiously, problems crop up.
Compare that to the older Mitsubishi engines used in the old Saga, Wira or Waja or Toyota engines, especially when NGV is used, Campro has what I'd call, lack of engineering margins.

The radiator coolant couldn’t cool it down? NGV produces so much heat kah?

QUOTE(AMDAthlon @ Jul 18 2019, 11:06 PM) Mounting changed before? Could be gearbox/engine mounting wearing out hence the vibration? I think no if I recall correctly.. Check again during the weekends

I'm not an automotive guy but I have both the old Saga with Mitsu engine fitted with NGV and the facelift 1st Gen Persona (with the IAFM). I really love the Persona, one of the best looking Protons before the Geely comes out, it has really aged well. When I send my trusty old Saga for tuning with the NGV specialist, I heard a lot of horror stories about Campro engines when using NGV. The money saved from fitting NGV is used to pay for engine repairs, sometimes not worth the hassle or cost, some taxi drivers with Campro Protons would rather use petrol than NGV.

QUOTE(punkLOL @ Jul 18 2019, 10:16 PM) LOL, it's clean dude No need to clean it how do u know its clean? most of the metal deposits cannot been seen with bare eyes. you need to clean it so you will know the condition of the engine and if there is any sign of sludge build up. it is the easiest "window" to your engine. draining the engine oil does not remove all deposits. especially if your mechanic only uses the sucking machine. alot of deposits still running around back in your engine. i believe it is a good practice to be done once in while.

QUOTE(anakMY @ Jul 18 2019, 07:13 PM) Is campro reliable? Has anybody gone more than 500k km on campro without doing any overhauling? Despite its makan minyak and lack of power, it seems rarely we heard about the campro engine failure. Own one. Reliable. Never overhaul clock >240k+ km. Just normal maintenance and sometime major service. QUOTE(awang @ Jul 18 2019, 07:17 PM) still going strong at 240k..not sure when going to reach that 500k mark..haha 500k mark? Need another 10 years to know.
