My ex-company is using Metro-E (DOLL), cost around RM7,500++, the SLA is within 4 hours and if breached, TM will credit back that particular's downtime hours.

So far their response is tip-top, usually downtime not more than 2 hours... hahaha

Ours previously just directly subscribe a few Unifi business line and use. Downtime will be the same as nationwide Unifi. Way cheaper but I know it is not applicable for large company which need to ensure certain uptime level.

Used to get direct Lease line E1 from Pacnet, Tier 1 connection. Around RM80k annually . That was 10years ago, now not sure what are they running.

If you have the budget, many Tier-1 and Tier-2 ISP can be link.

You can always ask them to disclose their Peering partner, and get the ASN number to verify. Also the connection speed between peering. This all they will share if you are going for their top tier subscription.

You won't be able to get best internet line. What you can do is where is your major connection end point are? if say your company major connection is to your UK Office, you can check with your UK Office their isp ASN number, and see your new isp have any direct peering with them via asn number, or number of hops to the asn.

You can also ask your new isp to check on connection to the ASN you want, how is the speed.

Maybe after the take over, Malaysia team got "letgo".. who know.

What the cost now? Is last mile line still as costly as decade ago? Last time we were paying almost same price for the E1 infra. TM really make buta monies.

Monthly? Guess is a good price now. You getting 1:1 ration not like house internet can go 50:1 ration or higher.

they cant do anything for you if any issue, they are just extra hop in your communication, which cause more delay

Maxis is never a tier 1, better get good isp with tier 1. Than again sometime company have no option because the building/area are propriety to only select isp.
