sound effect - 3/5 - Decent sound effect.. not monstrous lfe but good enough to let you feel the storm scenes
picture - 2/5 - movie on budget? The water looks real but the wave and animals arent.. not impressive picture to bring out the the story lines

Simple story with inspiring plot but rather built in a budget way. It doesnt has the hollywood like of standard but the story just nice to fill up my 2 hours. I havent watch anything similar.. i cant compare. I googled and seems like there are similar materials from the actual person who did the sailing.

Shotgun Wedding (2022)
Watched this a few days ago.
Tom (Josh Duhamel) and Darcy(Jennifer Lopez) are getting married and they invited all their friends and families to their wedding in a remote island in the Philippines.
Remote island, Philipines, bad cell tower = pirates.
everyone except the bride and groom are kidnapped. the pirates demanded 45million as ransom. i cant say more without revealing the plot of the movie.
anyway its a refreshing comedy. dont take things seriously. it is actually quite funny if u understand the jokes. i didnt mind watching it

i watch movies and tv shows of all kinds - hollywood, swedish, french, turkish, israeli, chinese, taiwanese, japanese, korean...

indian... i recently watched these 2 and i was surprised but delighted how well they are made!

both 2.5 hrs... good action, great CGI n colors, pleasant music, songs and dances. and a touching story. 4/5.

if u haven't watched a good indian movie for some time, these 2 are highly recommended:

Lol, been like a month passed, I already forgot this movie... just watch to relax mind so I usually don't memorize the movies.

天龙八部之乔峰传 SAKRA... donnie yen as Qiao Feng.

hmm... hard to describe... becos i like Jin Yong novels and hv watched the TV series several times, multiple versions.

i wud say Donnie Yen at 59 tried v hard to make it a great trilogy but hasn't got it yet.

the action, fighting scenes are good - fast, intense, wuxia like.

but the script... tough to put all that in 2 hrs that make sense, keep the suspense for the viewer.

the story is a very long n complex one... warring ethnic groups... tibetans, yunnanese, tanguts, manchu ancestors, song....

i hope he keeps his drive to make part 2 and 3... Xu Zhu, Duan Yu.

if u do not already know the story, u will likely NOT like this movie. for me, 2.5/5, just OK.




of the several versions i watched, i like this 2003 version best - great action, handsome guys, pretty girls... apa lagi mau?




if not mistaken, the last time someone made a movie of this story was in 1994 with Lin Chin Hsia, Gong Li, Cheung Man.

The original story is good but trying to put it all in a 2 hour movie doesn't do it justice

Strange nobody here giving review on Avatar 2

ok... AVATAR 2... or Avatar: The Way of Water..

it's a 3+ hr long movie, had to break it up into 3 sessions!

overall, it's excellent, visually stunning.

the only thing viewers may be disappointed is that it's a tad too long... 2.5 hours should do it.

moreover, the first 45min or so is very much like AVATAR where u see the same "navi forest people".

it's only when they get to the "metkayina water people" that it gets exciting.

the underwater scenes incl the flying fishes, "tulkun" (whales) are amazing... lots of diving, swimming, CGI... + motion capture tech... that's where all the $$$ went, i suppose.

in their avatars, u may not recognize some of the actors - sam worthington, zoe zaldana, sigourney weaver, stephen lang, kate winslet, cliff curtis, etc.

AVATAR 2 is now 3rd highest grossing film of all time, behind AVATAR and AVENGERS END GAME.

4/5.

AVATAR 3 is confirmed, slotted for dec 2024. Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis joins the cast in this one.
