are u here talking about real HARDWARE or just the sound inside the video?

To get the Atmos experience, you need the hardware (ceiling speakers + AVR).

If you don't have the hardware you can still play the Atmos soundtrack.
Your AVR can still play it, you just won't get the ceiling sound effects.

So far in my experience, horror movies like Conjuring 2 makes use of the ceiling sound effects really well

if u hv the proper setup with downward firing speakers, it should be marvellous.
those with upward firing or atmos soundbars... i doubt they are any good.

personally, i am particular about audio but haven't got to atmos yet.
still, i will not wanna watch a blockbuster with tv audio or 2.0 or even dd5.1.
gotta have dtshdma or ddtruehd for big movies.
even for tv shows, i gotta have dd+ or at least dd.

4 ceiling speakers
4 surround speakers
2 fronts and 1 center
1 subwoofer
Denon avr-x4400h + stereo amp

It is not too bad.

but isn't Atmos using the same as truehd just with the layout is diff for audio reproduction ?

Atmos is trueHD + additional height channels

Re-watch my all time favor show Moon. I am very happy this rare title get release in 4K. It still as usual deserved my 5 Star.

I watched Alita Battle Angel 4k Blu-ray last night.

It is very enjoyable.
Visuals are great.
Audio is awesome.

I also just finish watching Alita: Battle Angel. I try to like it but ... I can't. 3 Star.

Yup, the visuals are great but it seems like watching Robocop world in Ready Player One.
The audio wise is freaking awesome!

The most important I start dislike the show from mid and the end is such a boom... no ending...

The box office is so bad in US, not even half the budget, wonder they will have Alita 2 or not...
Even though the worldwide gross is double of the budget but US gross is important and this film didn't do it well.

Another James Wan's horror movie, seems never got the attention it deserves. Not excessive but enough terrifying scenes.
