if u r a fan of syfy/time travel... terminator, 12 monkeys, travelers.... u should like in the shadow of the moon 2019.

it is a low budget netflix movie, no big stars except maybe michael hall from dexter.

but is interesting enuf to keep u going, asking questions along the way.

when it is done, u may need to rewatch the last part as it get a little fuzzy like all time travel shows.biggrin.gif 3/5.

wOw, great to hear you guys sharing 4K experience here... for me, although i owned two 4K titles on physical blu-ray (Batman v Superman and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), i don't have a 4K-capable gadget (player, tv, cable, avr...) to play it on... doh.gif 1080 for now is good enough i guess.... nod.gif

please share / review / comment more older titles that have been out on 4K here, meaning not the ones shot on UHD/HD camera in the first place (because newer flicks sure great PQ & AQ... no doubt thumbup.gif ) would love to hear your thoughts because my eyes still can't differentiate much between 4K and 1080 on older movies... maybe i'm old biggrin.gif

gentlement dont blame your age / your eye. Blame the marketing gimmic. 1080 to 4k its not equal to 3 times more clarity. Especially true for those movies title with CGI.

There are some good title without CGI can live up 4k like Nolan Batman Trilogy. Very nice SQ but noticible noise that i observed on PQ.

I need to do frame by frame comparison between fullHD and 4k to tell the different and its not obvious for title like transformer. Dont spend your hard earn money on 4k title with lots of CGI. you might not get the best of it.

there are all kinds of HD, 1080p, 2160p videos.
a lousy "4k" video may not come out a nice as a good 1080p.
generally, there is a diff, more noticeable on larger screens.
the diff is small if the the chain of components source-player-tv are "ordinary".
so, no need to rush into it - upgrade when the time comes to buy new equipment.

You will notice differences if only you play at 4K TV/device with HDR capable. Also try avoid Disney title or release by Disney, include the entire Marvels title as what Disney did is very minimal differences. Others studio did much better especially Sony on those oldest title. It is wow experience.

4K might not help much but the differences that help is the HDR and also how the studio remastered it.

By the way, Disney did the most minimal notice in between 1080p v/s 4K. If want see wow effect, try avoid Disney release 4K title.

This is basically useless, better check review at blu-ray.com as upscale not means no differences or bad and real 4K not means will be always best.

if that is correct...

Avatar 4k/hdr does not exist - i agree! biggrin.gif

these, i agree.
13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi – Fake 4K, HDR
Alien: Covenant – Fake 4K, HDR

these, i think wrong... they exist.

Avengers: Endgame – Fake 4K, HDR
Avengers: Infinity War – Fake 4K, HDR
Doctor Strange – Fake 4K, HDR

yup agreed.

most CGI-heavy movies don't utilise full 4K because otherwise the working files will be darn heavy to work on the effects throughout the movies.

the nolan dark knight trilogy obviously will use the fullest 4K especially with its IMAX scenes, if not it'll be a waste of the large format film biggrin.gif
