I'm not sure whether this is relevant or not, or has anybody realized this before but there's a 1-2 degree difference when i read my CPU temperature using CoreTemp when idle with Vista and XP. Under Window Vista, it reads lower temperature compared to WinXP. Does this means Vista is using less CPU processing power and produce less heat? drool.gif

Unlikely, since vista is usually hard on processor and graphics card. I would expect temps to be a few degrees higher rather than lower. Probably because of different software-even in winXP using different software to read temps sometimes gives different readings.

I use Speedfan or CoreTemp...

By the way, I assume that the slight temperature difference between XP and Vista is caused by incompatibility issue with my mobo and Vista, so that explains why the temperature seems to be lower under Vista...
