Here my comments. Btw good to know there another d40 user as well. notworthy.gif

Pic 1: Composition could be better. Those rocks looks blocking the view

pic 3: Hmm, good messaging telling on father-daughter in the beach

pic 4: Yummy drool.gif

pic 6: Nothing special, really wink.gif

Pic 7: Commendable pic. smile.gif

pic 8: Obvious noise problem. Perhaps enable the noise filter in ur cam helps or increase the ISO to 400-800.

pic 9: composition could be better

pic 10: where is ur focus? Composition needs work man. sweat.gif

yeah, i think the noise problem in Pic 8 is due to the increase in lighting and contrast when i was doing some touch up on the pics. Thanks notworthy.gif

Still good attempt from u. I believe u can do better. Remember the 3 quarter rule for composition and always know what u wanted to take. Then things will improve. smile.gif

Don't depend too much on post-processing. The blues in your pictures are overdone. Too much contrast adjustment. Go for more natural colors just like the sand turtle.

yalor, seems that the pictures are overly saturated. Can anyone tell me why is it that when i view it in the camera LCD, the colour is just nice, but once tansfer to my com, the colour seems a little dull and underexposed? That's why i crank up the saturation to try to imitate the 'vividness' of the pictures. Probably its time to change my computer monitor.

Don't depend on the camera's LCD. Try to calibrate your monitor before doing any post-processing.

i'm a fan of vivid colors, so i think the saturation is ok, but noticed you are not leaving enough space for your subjects sometimes, i.e, the turtle and the little girl... rolleyes.gif

its not always the monitor
the software used to open the image can play the devil part as well
some convert your colour profile - which is not good

p.s. you can never go wrong with a Mac cinema-type screen wink.gif
