How you over clock also won't close to an i7 . TUF is ROG last time . It's badly build and using rubbish screen that's why Asus open a separated branding for them . Asus scare the bad machine will taint the ROG name .

You are right it won't be close to an i7. Helios 300 1660Ti is an amazing machine. But currently all the i7 1660Ti/2060s in malaysia are 5000RM+. I'm fine with it as I save 1k. And when I resell I can sell it at good value as most people only look at specs. So some people might decide to buy my laptop instead of helios 300 simply to save 400-500rm (later). Right now I need a laptop that's why I got this as my previous Lenovo broke down. Couldn't wait for Acer any longer to bring their best deal to malaysia.

Ah I dont have the budget for 5000RM RTX2060. Not many 1660Ti choices in malaysia and I dont wanna step down to 1650. However I suddenly found a super good deal since you mentioned Y540 and wonder if its legit. You could check:

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/lenovo-l...T9ySyw&search=1

As for the horror stories. I'm not sure because many of my colleagues in the office use Asus

noticed this is not a Asian region model.
Lenovo Malaysia DO NOT HONOR WARRANTY ON USA units. Beware

Which ones? Just curious to know.

These are the only ones I see in Lazada:

https://www.lazada.com.my/shop-laptops-gami...0&sort=priceasc

https://www.lazada.com.my/shop-laptops-gami...i&sort=priceasc

The only local 1660Ti models below 5k I see is Nitro 7 (i7 model) and Zephyrus G and TUF FX505. Zephyrus G has same spec so I just didn't want to spend extra 800rm even though build quality, battery, display, etc is better. I guess the Nitro 7 seems enticing though yes especially with the 144hz screen and i7 drool.gif

edit: The Nitro 7 comes with 256gb storage. Thats about 100rm value "opportunity cost" i guess. For now I guess I'm kinda content with the FX505. I would probably go with other models like Helios 300 though if we had as good deals as USA.

edit2: According to Mathew Moniz youtube, Asus Nitro 5 and 7 run hotter than FX505.

Wow I forgot to check Commando sad.gif . How come they don't sell in lazada, shopee, etc? Their prices are super competitive (Looking at Katana specs on Clearance. Not sure about its performance though)

edit: The rest of the ones mentioned are very close to 5000rm. Being a 100-200rm cheaper than 5000 doesn't make cheap. Would rather pay the extra 200rm for helios 300 than the ones mentioned above (My fx505 was 3950rm)
