Bought Mi A3 for my mum ,

Overall great phone ,

Quality is far away better compared to redmi note 8 ,

UFS2.1 , sony IMX582 , OLED display , back curved glass , front 32 megapixel , all this enough to KO RN8

720P AMOLED is okay , the colour sharp enough ,

fingerprint bit slow ,

speaker not loud enough ,

Camera Quality is superb.

for budget RM700 I think this is the best phone.

Great job Xiaomi. Mi A2 already got Android 10 and the current A3 still nothing. AndroidOne fast updates my arse.

It is really sad case. I alwas love stock android. but Google pixel line too expensive and can only hope for Android One... now the lack of support from Xiaomi ....

Curently I have both A2 and A3.

UI is exactly the same. Stock Android. A3 still on Android 9 where A2 is already updated to Android 10. Might get the version 10 update pretty soon.

Physically A3 is smaller and thicker but has a bigger long lasting battery. 7-8 hours SOT without even trying to save battery.

A3 has AMOLED so colours are vibrant. Being 720p is not very noticeable unless you put them both side by side. I've been using it since around October and the 720p screen does not bother me. YMMV

A3 fingerprint scanner is slow and does not recognise fingerprints from time to time. Have to manually type PIN to unlock. I prefer A2's rear mounted scanner.

Camera is where the A3 wins. Both rear and selfie.

The A3 has a card slot but you lose the second SIM slot if you have a memory card.

SOC performance is not much of an updrade from SD 660 to SD 665. Its more of a sidegrade.

Also, I can't seem to get 4G+ on the A3 but I can on A2. Don't know if I missed a setting or what.

Can't comment on 6GB RAM as my A2 is the 4/64GB variant.

Same problem here with 4g.
Always seems on H, while A2 and others can get 4G. If u go into preferred network setting change to 2G then back 4G, sometime helps

Yes. Sad. Xiaomi lied and failed to deliver again. Their excuse is Coronavirus. Yeah right. But the A2 already got Android 10 last month.

after factory reset, fingerprint unlock can be use. other way is delete all lock features and fingerprint, restart the phone and re-add back lock and fingerprint. but still need to turn on AOD first so that fingerprint unlock can be access.

i dont know why they change it become like this or it is still a bug?
pro mode can be access after factory reset.
battery seems fine and no drain issue.
need to monitor it more.
