I am contemplating if I should:
1. Do the hard work and rent out my house on my own
2. Engage an agent to rent out my house

As I have never done this before, I am leaning towards option #1. However, I have heard fr my friends and relatives on their bad experiences in dealing with agents.

Therefore, I would like to ask:
A. If I m to engage an agent to rent out my house, what should I look out for?
B. What are some of the questions that I should ask my agent?
C. Should I interview my tenants even if my agent said they have already done background checks?

My house is a double storey terrace house.

As this is my first time renting out my house, hope to get valuable insights from sifus here. Many thanks in advance.
