QUOTE(munak991 @ Jul 13 2019, 12:50 PM) cannnn u just calculate inflation and currency differences and that amount is the same amount that u should be paying. if u buy USD 50 keyboard during 1995. with inflation and currency exchange according to inflation. USD 50 = RM 230+ inflation RM 230 = RM 400 ( inflation rate is 77% according to the inflation calculator) So there u have it, ur budget should be RM 400 to get equivalent values of USD50 keyboard inflation is one thing but quality is another story. like I said, lifespan very short these days

Old thread but checks out. Yeah. Sometime you just gotta ask and look around. Kinda depends on your luck. Some people don't know the value.

Hey thanks for replying and sorry for necroing the thread. Been interested in vintage keyboards lately, guess i'll head to Imbi sometime then. Any type of store to look out for in particular? If you want buckling spring, just buy a new unit from Unicomp. It's 90% close to original Model M.
If you want a quality rubber dome, spend big for a Topre

I like those clicking keyboards, typewriter or ICQ typing sound.
Good if alone, not good in office or someone around.

I am still using 2 of these, but they were quite filthy when I found them, one is Maxi switch (dome with slider) with MX like keycaps and using QWERTY UK layout with inverted L enter key. Another is a quite common KB-7953 that you can still find black version. Both also yellowed already and take some time to cleanup, inside the build is simple to take apart and you can find a metal plate that makes it about 1kg heavy. Modern quality mechanical keyboards will likely feel better than these old membrane keyboards, it's not that worth hunting for one now, even if you can find one they would likely be yellowed, dirty and some parts worn out, so not working like new unless you find new old stock. If want old one better to go for the buckling spring one but they cost a lot more and some needs servicing since it's old, the build quality way better, heavier and is clicky and loud unlike dome with slider. And at least the PBT plastic wont yellow, so very long lasting if you can service it now and then. Taobao usually got but condition is varying. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by svfn: Jan 8 2020, 06:42 PM

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Jul 13 2019, 09:55 AM) Your title says Microsoft internet keyboard but your contents say different. This is Ms internet kb. I have one. Still using it in my rig. Last time i have one something like this but with a bug mouse roller on the left i think. It was really nice. I think when Windows 8, the roller doesnt work already, so i throw it away.
