I am a Singapore PR from West Malaysia who has been working in Singapore for 10+ years. However, I have decided to move to Sabah with my boyfriend and pursue a career there.

Once I settled in Sabah (East Malaysia), would I be able to withdraw my CPF fully in that case? What kind of documentation would ICA require in that case? Simply my Malaysia IC with east Msia address? Or do I really need to own a property in east Msia?

Is there any difference for being a west vs east Malaysian from a Malaysian standpoint? Or from Singapore ICA point of view how would they differentiate Malaysian from these 2 regions? Our IC and Passport will remain the same right?

My parents are still in West Malaysia so I still plan to go back and visit them now and then.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Especially from any West Malaysian here that managed to withdraw their CPF in full before 50.

ICA differentiate by malaysia NRIC. sabah / sarawak will have the state code of 13/14. West malaysia depending on state. Even if you move to east Malaysia, your nric code will still remain as west malaysia. Saying that, it may not be possible for you to get you CPF before the age of 55. The best is talk to CPF directly.
