since my wife delivered our baby in ipoh GH i just thought to write a review about it since there is no review about any government hospital in the forum. since this is our first baby like any other parent we were in dilemma where to admit my wife for pregnancy. i searched a quite lot and due to budget constraints we finally decided to give birth at ipoh GH. my wife got admitted into ward bersalin because of high pressure. since then she was under constant monitoring from doctor and nurse. first she was induced twice and after 1 days there was no pain and hence we decided to operate. the doctor called me and explained every situation. then on the day of OP the rolled here into theater and after 2 hours my wife delivered baby.

after that baby and mom was transferred to normal ward. actually it was 4 bedded room with fan and it was clean. she was fed with chicken and rice for lunch and for dinner fish and rice. every meal with a fruit and vegetable. the nurse also comes around to ask if we need hot water or milo. if they see the baby crying they take the baby to the room , fed the baby and put baby to sleep and bring the baby after 3 4 hours. every morning nurse showers the baby.
on the day of discharge the main doctor comes and look both mother and baby and once they say ok , they discharge.

finally i have to say all the doctors and nurse are well trained. the doctors we got were really helpful and explained all the procedures.

after discharge i got the bill for rm 170 . the actual bill according to them was rm 4900 but after all subsidy and so the total bill was 170.

total days stayed 5 days( suite room for first 2 days with aircon and separate washroom and 2 days at 4 bedded room and 5th day discharge.)

finally i very happy for their service and will definitely go again if happens to deliver for 2nd baby.

so i suggest all dads to try out our government hospital for delivery and save around 6 to 10 10k . if you have lot of cash then different story la.

they have built a new ward for pregnancy and expected to open anytime soon
