chassis does not take overnight to be manufactured.
probably the headlights, bulb, bodyparts, seats etc..... were also from 2018 too.

Maybe you can file complaint on those items too.

Your car manufactured determines the market value.

What's most important is what is stamped on your registration card. Most people don't know how to read VIN numbers anyway so don't worry and by the way, it is pretty normal practice.

i think this is misleading to the buyer. VIN number is the accurate manufactured date not your JPJ card. I don't know how JPJ can put 2019 when its 2018 car. You should go and check with JPJ and see what they say. This is rather shady...

I beg to differ.

I am from a manufacturing of food factory.

For jan 2019 production, i have sugar, flour, eggs all dated 2018 december.

When i mix them in 2019, 2019 will be the manufacturing date of finished goods. The ingredient is documented as 2018. It is not wrong. This is according to moh and gmp requirement.

In a car for jan 2019 production , do you expect the chassis, body shell, lower arm, absorbers, seats, bulbs, wire, ecu and all to be 2019 jan? Manufacturing of chassis, the coil steel would be ordered way before Dec 2018 and would take some time to manufacture.

The problem now is I bought the car in July 2019 expecting the car is made in 2019 not 2018.  If that is the case, they should let me know it's a 2018 Dec manufactured car but instead they hide the fact. The car has been sitting idle for more than 6 months. Battery may be drained, flat spots on tyres, fluids and other factors may be affected.
Food and car are different.

Hi,

i do not want to argue because you are very upset.

But if you believe so much in the manufacture date, does the manufacturing date state the start of production or end of production date?

I do not want to share the food industry practice as you are in the opinion that they are different.

Anyway, hope you find what you are looking for.

Cheers,
