I have recently port in to Maxis from Digi, keeping my original number. After the port in, I cannot receive any Bank TAC code.

Called Telco they told me that I need to update the bank as they need to update the telco. Is this true? Does this mean that if I have 10 banks, I have to manually update each of them in order to receive TAC?

This is stupid.

That is what they told me, which is totally stupid.

I have credit cards from 8 banks. Do they really expect me to update at all 8 banks?

It is very common issue. Just wait and do nothing or go to atm to re register your number.

There's no need to update the number if you MNP. But due to security concern receiving OTP/TAC from bank might be disrupted up to 3 days.
If you are in the urge of receiving OTP/TAC immediately within the 3 days period then you should tell your bank about the MNP (or 'update' your number).

In fact I have MNP twice, from U Mobile to Celcom and now XOX, and I never had problem getting OTP/TAC even I don't inform or update the bank.

Do you know why is there a 3 days period gap? What will they do during the 3 days period?

chill out bro.

banks tac sms gateway is under 3rd party (bank negara linked company). just bear with it since its for your safety.

if someone manages to hack your number for mnp then they could do many scary things.

how the sms gateway re-verify your telco? I have no idea of their checklist ... but if it is there to prevent fraud then I support it ...

Yeah it was eventually resolved after a few days of wait. Can’t remember how many days exactly though. If you are in urgent need for otp, suggest you call the bank.
