Had an awful experience on last Saturday where my 22 years old car alternator died on a busy road..

Called the insurer and to my surprise, no free towing despite emphasizing I wanted a towing service tied to the insurance..

Paid rm150 for towing service to the workshop.

I read that AAM does not cover cars exceeding 20 years..

Apart from this, is there anymore options to consider..

Why joined AAM then? Should terminate and use other insurance and ask if tow service provided regardless car age.

Last time got news that AAM having trouble paying salary for its staff. I though they close shop already. Nowadays insurance company provided road assist as well making the AAM core business redundant

dunno about other insurance co, but AIG does include towing service for my 20yrs old car, on 3rd party with theft and fire coverage. But limited to 150km range, which is exceedingly enough.

Wow..that is quite high range there. Usually it's only 50km range.

Don’t waste time with AAM.

My insurance Kurnia has unlimited towing for any year as long within 600km distance from KV. The cost? Additional RM 98.

he switch me to axa which does not offer towing..

Don't waste time with agents. Go direct to MyEG instead. They can do everything under 1 roof. Can pay via CC or DC too.

I got a 1988 , 1993 and 1998 car.

My 2011 car also covered.

All unlimited towing.

MyEG and most insurance portals do not accept cars over 20 years old. Old car is the discussion of this topic.

They accepted my 1990 Mitsubishi Galant last year.

AAM is a fraud. Once my car broke down, called AAM, no one answer and 45 mins later, someone picked up. Guess what? We have no tow truck now.

So called my insurance and got the towing service for RM 150. Mine also >20 years no towing service. Lonpac.

Do you have information whether Allianz 3rd Party insurance also gives free tow truck services? If it doesn't, do we revert back to our own mechanics for their tow trucks? And for insurance provided tow trucks its always to tow to your own preferred mechanic workshop?

Kurnia got free towing nationwide up to 600km per year for 98 bucks.

Terminate AAM and use the insurance towing service. Cheaper and more convenient.

Buy from agents like MyEG. I bought mine there.

maybe try to buy insurance from agent. maybe online is not possible.
