you need at least a fund to register online, as you already noticed.

now you can goto any agent bank or post office to buy your first fund. note that the minimum is $10, not $100 or more as some would claim. I suggest :
1. ask the bank/post office to try $10 on each ASM1/ASM2/ASM3 see successful or not.
2. if above not successful, try any variable fund at $10. this should easily succeed.
3. If you can't convince them, then normally $100 will do.
