Hi, I'm new to all this investment things and have tried reading up a bit about ASNB.
My question is how do we know that ASNB is issuing new units for us to buy and invest?
Is it published in newspapers? On their website? Email newsletter? Phone app?

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Aug 19 2019, 10:45 PM) New units availability?. Last is 2009. Major newspaper & website.. Whatever u see now.. is existing units sold by existing unit holders.. they sells we buy. That's all... I see.... So if I want to start buying ASNB units, I will go to an ASNB agent and check first if there are units available? Or is it usually there will always be some units available to buy?

QUOTE(beLIEve @ Aug 20 2019, 09:13 AM) you could, but it's not "efficient". Just get yourself signed up at the "MyASNB.com.my" site and start buying on your own through that site. usually there will always be NO units available to buy Oh man Thanks for the info anyway!

Hi, newbie coming in here.
I went to register for ASNB at Alliance bank today. The counter lady informed me there are no units/quota available to start subscribing (expected). However they did give me a 12-digit "account number" (?), and said I could use this to register for myASNB and check if any units/quota become available.
But when I try registering for myASNB it asks to choose a fund that I am already subscribed to, which I dont have any, therefore I cant register for myASNB.
So, am I supposed to repeatedly go to the bank to try and successfully subscribe to a fund first before I can start using myASNB?
There is also a "Referral code for Portal registration" field. Where do I get this code?

QUOTE(beLIEve @ Aug 26 2019, 09:36 PM) you need at least a fund to register online, as you already noticed. now you can goto any agent bank or post office to buy your first fund. note that the minimum is $10, not $100 or more as some would claim. I suggest : 1. ask the bank/post office to try $10 on each ASM1/ASM2/ASM3 see successful or not. 2. if above not successful, try any variable fund at $10. this should easily succeed. 3. If you can't convince them, then normally $100 will do. referral code is there for future use. right now no purpose. there will be a day when ASN will ask you refer your friends and family to buy their funds. one fine day..... Oh so that means I subscribe to a variable fund first, use that to register for myASNB and from there I monitor for the fixed funds?

I was able to open an ASN Sara 2 account at the bank, but I still get the "Please select the registered fund you have subscribed to." error when I try to register for myASNB. Is there a few floating days before I can proceed? This post has been edited by RigerZ: Aug 28 2019, 09:28 PM

Try calling ASN tomorrow and report the problem QUOTE(snowsky @ Aug 29 2019, 09:25 AM) Yes, there is a day or two business day of buffer if i remember correctly. You can't register portal on the same day of account opening, according to what i experience back in March. I open on Saturday, but only manage to register portal successfully on Tues/Weds... Patient ya, patient... QUOTE(john123x @ Aug 29 2019, 10:24 AM) It's just my deduction. If you buy FP to create account, it's instant because it's FP. But if you buy VP to create account, you probably need some time (next day?). This is because the NAV price of the VP is finalized at the end of the day. VP is VP because it's price changes every day due to market flunctuation Its okay now. I received an email with my ASN Sara 2 transaction details this morning and was able to register for myASNB after that. Maybe this can be pinned in the first page FAQ.
