When Zeti took over, I remembered feeling that she was pretty conservative from an article that I read and thus, expected returns would be lower. (even if market stays the same due to her 'conservative style'). However, was still hoping that it would still be be 5.5% for ASM2. Certainly didn't expect it to be 5%.  (Reason: Even though market dropped the past year, $ can still be made by trading stocks besides earning dividend.)

profit from sale of shares= $231.05m or 24%
dividend =$569.48m or 58%
Sukuk/FD/Fixed income instruments =$178.98m or 18%]

The Sukuk/FD/FI  interest tends to be lower, so to even get 18% of total gross income, a fair chunk must have been put into it, which will drag down overall profitability. Dividend as usual tends to be higher than FD interest. Profit from sale of shares --most likely most of it came from trading stocks.

Difference between gross and net income is $219.5m or 22.4% ($219.5m/$979.5m). Anyone knows whether ASNB calculate the 'paper loss' of stocks still being held? If so, then it should be part of the $219.5m right? If not, then cost of running ASNB (ie salary etc) is $219.5m or 22.4% of gross income
I expect lower rates to come in future years as USA market is not even in recession yet.
