Let me guess..
It's old folks does that? They got time...
Stay house bored. Go branch can tcss.. release stress.... Meet many people too....

Early 50 I think
True haha.

But with the increasing number of user using myasnb, won't the chances of fund availability drop significantly for otc purchasing? Or is there any fund that will be locked for otc purchasing?

QUOTE(TOS @ Sep 21 2019, 05:38 PM)
To be honest, are these kind of out-of-the-system transactions legal?

The risk is high apparently.

One improvement I would recommend for ASNB is to make public the current (real-time) outstanding units available for greater transparency instead of limiting that information to the staffs at ASNB offices and their agents.
*
I doubt its legal. That's why we can't have nice thing sweat.gif
Introduced transfer system, the ppl will abuse it.
Btw the transfer system will subject to unit availabilities right? If not enough unit will transfer the remaining fund into our bank account. Right?

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Sep 21 2019, 05:42 PM)
Ehh wait..
He withdrawing in banks right?
Or now change to direct dealing....

Didn't see any post in garage sale section??
*
I think I saw the post in garage sales charging 1.5% fees. Which is quite high tbh 😅

Wah..
It's high side already...
0.5% can accept lor 🤣
*
Yup
With the 1.5% fees, thats like 3.5% pa for the first year only (given the dividend is still 5 the upcoming year). But of coz the following year if not withdrawing then can get the full dividend.

If the buyer can justify the extra 1350 myr (90k worth of unit) fees in exchange of the time needed to buy the fund then should be ok ba haha.

The term involved is AUTHORIZED seller. Agent banks are, but you are not.

Think about was it legal to setup a business (assume you got 100m in FP) to sell FP fund at 5% commission? It is the same at individual scale and lower commission.
*
All the person u quoted didn't plan to sell any unit I think sweat.gif

Imo, it's best to just withdraw (sell back to asnb) and let everyone buy it. Less hassle, 0 risk in term of safety and also legally.

if sell off the available units at 5% profits....will it be sort of killed the gold egg laying goose?
1 time profits of 5% but lose the opportunity to have risk free and yearly get 6% ROI, while searching high and low for no risk and 6% pa ROI investment vehicle
*
Not if you already planned to withdraw the money (for other purpose) in the first place.

employing people for that 5% profits?
getting 1K is already not easy,
the UNITS you sold are actually transferred, thus not on sale in the market
*
Not sure how the transfer work though

Issit
a) unit owned by A directly transfer to B account, or
b) system will sell unit owned by A and then trigger account B to buy unit.

Coz there's a prompt for us to input our bank account when transferring the unit and there's a message stating that the cash value of the unit that unable to transfer will be transferred to the bank account we insert? (Just saw briefly when testing out the transfer function)

QUOTE(yklooi @ Sep 22 2019, 12:33 AM)
Transfer between ASNB funds involves two different Unit Holders of the same fund.
For instance, Unit holder A would like to transfer 100 units of ASB to ASB Account Unit holder B.

For fund(s) that has/have been registered under Hibah Amanah, the provision in the Hibah Amanah’s contract applies ie the amount blocked as Hibah Amanah cannot be switched/transferred.

What are the procedures to apply for transfer and switching between ASNB funds?
Unit Holders are advised to fill in the following form:
Borang Pemindahan dan Penukaran Unit (ASNB TS)

Can the transfer and switching facility between ASNB funds be performed online through myASNB portal?
Not available yet.

http://www.asnb.com.my/asnbv2_5faq_EN.php
*
There's an option for pemindahan on myAsnb already.
But haven't really try it sweat.gif

QUOTE(gedebe @ Sep 22 2019, 02:18 PM)
meaning I can still sell, even there is no buyer?
*
Yes.

There will always be a buyer
But buyer can only deal directly with asnb branch/agents or myasnb
There's no direct selling from unit owner to buyer
Hope this clarifies

Hi Bro, Im trying to slowly save money n invest in ASM... But my wife says this no principal guarantee. Every day try also difficult. We at situation where every $100s mean a lot. What u think....cannot face double whammy.
*
Asnb aside, I think need to make a budget for ur expenses when 100 means a lot for a married couple.

U guys already have emergency fund saved up? 6 months of ur combined salary if possible. If not then maybe 6 months of expenses.

If got kids then even more challenging coz kids are expensive and the expenses for them come unexpectedly. Also need to save for their future education.

If can't really take time to buy the fund then can just go for conventional/promo fixed deposit (around 3% for conventional and around 3.5 to 3.9% for promo). If need high liquidity then maybe keep the money in high interest yielding account like OCBC 360, UOB One etc.

Thank you all for your kind sharing. Can't take the challenge with Trade War etc. Tomorrow will withdraw some to put into FD. Just to confirm, my ASM can get prorated interest? Thank you, all. Bye.
*
Why sell a higher liquidity and yielding investment to invest in lower liquidity and yielding investment?
In asnb (asb123 & asm123), ur capital is fixed.

LOL, 1st time heard ppl say feel stress and fear when invest in ASM.....
basically buying ASM just like putting money in FD, just the rate not predetermined like FD only. And we can quite confirm to say the rate will be higher than normal FD rate....

The only fear I think will be PNB bankrupt....
*
I already pm him to give some advice
Hopefully he don't sell lo
Though my inner thought still wish he sell so that we can buy laugh.gif

yes. ideally enforce a cap on how many units a person can buy in a day, say $1000. then we can close down this forum already.
*
Sometine wanna get 500 also hard...
If cap then just focus on epf and scrap this asnb.

Ofcourse we know of the compounding effect.

Her main concern is that she want to put aside emergency funds. We dont have emergency funds yet.

So if ASB funds(the dividend amount, not the loan amount) can be withdrawn anytime incase of an emergency, might as well just leave it there.
*
Yup. It can
It is the best emergency fund account a malaysian can get.
Sadly this is only for bumi

Non bumi can only stick with asm or other higher return alternative that may come with higher risk.

So make use of it. When u have extra money, can put in asb2 too.
