Welcome to the 17TH version of the thread. Last version can be found HERE—Digi's networkDigi operates 2G GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 3G WCDMA/HSPA+ & 4G LTE/LTE-A network. Here is a list of network bands that Digi runs on. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « | Cell ID | Spectrum | Bandwidth | Antenna Type | Max Download | Remarks | | 101-104 | 2600mhz | 10mhz | 2x2 MIMO | 75mbps | | | 105-109,135,139 | 2600mhz | 10mhz | SISO | 36mbps | Indoor Coverage | | 201-204 | 1800mhz | 10mhz | 2x2 MIMO | 75mbps | | | 205-209 | 1800mhz | 10mhz | SISO | 36mbps | Indoor Coverage | | 201-204 | 1800mhz | 15mhz | 2x2 MIMO | 110mbps | Semenanjung Malaysia | | 205-209 | 1800mhz | 15mhz | SISO | 54mbps | KV Indoor Coverage | | 1-3 | 900mhz | 5mhz | 2x2 MIMO | 33mbps | Urban area | | 1-3 | 900mhz | 3mhz | 2x2 MIMO | 17mbps | Rural area | | Cell ID | CA/4G+ | Bandwidth | Antenna Type | Max Download | Remarks | | 1xx or 2xx | 26+18 | 10+10 | 2x2 MIMO | 145mbps | | | 1xx or 2xx | 26+18 | 10+10 | SISO | 72mbps | Indoor Coverage | | 1xx or 2xx | 26+18 | 10+15 | 2x2 MIMO | 180mbps | Klang Valley | | 1xx or 2xx | 26+18 | 10+15 | SISO | 90mbps | KV Indoor Coverage | Credit to prosibu Details of LTE—Digi's LTE currently runs on 900MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz. The former offers great coverage indoors & outdoors and can be identified with their cell ID in the range of 20X, the latter offers much better capacity & speed, albeit with much worse coverage. It can also be identified with the cell ID in the range of 10X. Digi's LTE-A network combines this two network bands to achieve theoretically double the speed of regular LTE. Digi's 900Mhz provides much better coverage than both 1800Mhz and 2600Mhz and aims to improve indoor coverage. RequirementsTo use LTE, there are three requirements, a 4G-LTE enabled SIM Card, a 4G-LTE capable mobile device and you have to be within Digi's LTE network. To use LTE-A, you need a LTE-A capable device and be within their LTE-A coverage area. To check whether your SIM card is 4G-LTE compatible, simply SMS LTE or lte to 20000 Here is their network coverage page. RoamingAs of - Link here: http://new.digi.com.my/roaming—Roam Like Home—Accurate as of 1st of July 2019 Link here : http://new.digi.com.my/roaming/roam-like-home-monthlyDigi's Roam Like Home is a roaming service that provides 5GB of data and 60mins of talk-time(calling back to Malaysia number, calling to any number in the visiting countries and receiving calls) in select 10 countries. The allocations are renewed monthly and shared between the countries. Monthly fee for RLH depends on package/plan subscribed. Some plans may have it included whereas some require monthly subscription of either RM35 or RM15. 60mins of talkative provided by roam like home has a charging block of 60sec, meaning to say a 30sec call is considered a 60sec one. There is also free 60mins of IDD calls provided to the same 10 countries when calling from Malaysia. Be sure to connect/select to correct telco upon arrival. Failure to do so may cause you to be charged regular roaming rates (eg. RM36/day) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « | Australia | Telstra | | Brunei | DSTCom | | China | China Mobile (CMCC) | | Hong Kong | SmarTone/HKCSL/HKT/3/CMHK | | Indonesia | INDOSATOOREDOO/ TELKOMSEL | | Myanmar | Telenor (TNM) | | Philippines | GLOBE/SMART | | Singapore | StarHub/Singtel | | Taiwan | Chunghwa | | Thailand | Dtac / DTN TriNet |

QUOTE(fat16 @ Jul 1 2019, 03:59 PM) Some parts of rural sarawak rely solely on 900Mhz 4G.

QUOTE(Hummingbird @ Jul 1 2019, 07:31 PM) So the band 8 is sorely for east Malaysia? I hardly sight the existence of this band for LTE in Johor. I think this band is pretty rare as is. It is mainly for solving places with blind spot or bad indoor coverage cuz 900Mhz has better range but low capacity. Thats why it is cheaper to roll out 4G by utilizing 900Mhz in rural areas as there aren't many people and one cell tower can cover much larger area. If I'm not mistaken the max speed is around 35Mbps.

QUOTE(joshhd @ Jul 2 2019, 06:37 PM) Why when LTE2600 is added to the site, overall data usage (1800+2600) decreases from 600GB+ to 300GB+? Shouldn't the data usage be increased when new frequency band is used in the area? Is it because suddenly too many devices connects to 2600MHz tower, then 1800MHz tower tend to utilise lesser than before? Or how? And what would be the solution to mitigate or solve the issue from getting degraded speed too soon after the tower being deployed? Perhaps too many devices tried too hard to keep clinging onto 2600mhz eventhough connecting to 1800mhz would provide better throughput, hence why total data usage decreased.

QUOTE(Hummingbird @ Jul 3 2019, 11:28 AM) Since it has paid for the use of the band, why not just enable them as much as possible? Unless the spectrum right is restricted to pay-per-use basis. Probably more to do with ROI, setting up 900Mhz probably cost about the same as 1800mhz/2600mhz. 900mhz doesn't provide that big of a benefit for 90% of users, but i think i should still be rolled out either way. prosibu enlighten us pls.

QUOTE(Hummingbird @ Jul 3 2019, 04:36 PM) Thought it does help to reduce the number of cell tower needed with the ability to broadcast the signal to larger coverage? the problem is with bandwidth, 900Mhz can provide roughly 35mbps of bandwidth whereas 1800mhz can provide roughly 110mbps of bandwidth. So while yes, 900mhz can improve range thereby reducing the amount cell sites needed but bandwidth is a MUCH bigger concern.

QUOTE(powerwoot @ Aug 2 2019, 03:07 PM) Complaint to Digi as now I can feel 4G penetration into my house is not as strong as before. Now I am getting more than 70% on H+ and the speed is slow af just same to the basic 64kbps speed. Digi replied that there is no network abnormalities from their cell towers nearby. There might be new construction near you that is affecting the signal from the cell tower...

QUOTE(kkm @ Nov 25 2019, 01:07 PM) It says free in the current plan, not bonus data. So should be added into the plan right? I'm not so sure either, i think it is permanent but i'll find out soon i guess

QUOTE(smelllikenuts @ Dec 30 2019, 06:43 PM) I have spoken to CS and it seems that Family250 plan is no longer available & I cant sign up with free phones based on that plan. Only allow the DG80 onwards plans to top up $ to get phones instead - bummer on my end as there is no cheaper option despite monthly commitment of RM250/month Yep, the family plan is really quite a good deal, gonna hang on to it.
