Some parts of rural sarawak rely solely on 900Mhz 4G.

So the band 8 is sorely for east Malaysia? I hardly sight the existence of this band for LTE in Johor.

I think this band is pretty rare as is. It is mainly for solving places with blind spot or bad indoor coverage cuz 900Mhz has better range but low capacity. Thats why it is cheaper to roll out 4G by utilizing 900Mhz in rural areas as there aren't many people and one cell tower can cover much larger area. If I'm not mistaken the max speed is around 35Mbps.

Since it has paid for the use of the band, why not just enable them as much as possible? Unless the spectrum right is restricted to pay-per-use basis.

I just provide example:

My database like this:

Date: total / L9 / L18 / L21 / L26

One of the site
20190601: 98429||98429|N/A|N/A|N/A
20190608: 99254||99254|N/A|N/A|N/A
20190615: 95891||95891|0|N/A|N/A
20190622: 276942||97843|179099|N/A|N/A
20190629: 214621||96740|117881|N/A|N/A

U can c the traffic is 2x compared to previous while L9 traffic remain. This happened to other L9 only site as well and i feel hopeless when i saw the traffic increment.

If the L18 reached saturation (400GB to 600GB daily), L26 will be kicked in.Many L18 only site reached saturation and our beloved digi still havent add L26...

20190601: 592058||N/A|592058|N/A|N/A
20190608: 661640||N/A|661640|N/A|N/A
20190615: 596572||N/A|596572|N/A|N/A
20190622: 618754||N/A|618754|N/A|N/A
20190629: 328007||N/A|178749|N/A|149258

This example also shows the site is degraded when adding L26 smile.gif

The cell site degrades after more bands are broadcasting, could it be because the backhaul is the bottleneck?

Probably more to do with ROI, setting up 900Mhz probably cost about the same as 1800mhz/2600mhz. 900mhz doesn't provide that big of a benefit for 90% of users, but i think i should still be rolled out either way. prosibu enlighten us pls.

Thought it does help to reduce the number of cell tower needed with the ability to broadcast the signal to larger coverage?

i notice the speed for free 2.5gb weekly quota for video is being capped. speed is not more than 1Mbps tho.

can barely playing youtube vid in hd

is it just me?
*
I think it will rather want you to quickly finish the quota so that there might be change for you to purchase for data packages. Lol.

I guess the ‘managed’ or ‘throttled’ services is usually for those unlimited packages.

Anyone from Tawau, Sabah here?
I am facing high latency for my two Digi Sims..
Ping is above 300ms, sometimes reaches 600ms..
It happens for a few days.. asked Digi live chat said no report received in my area..
*
Digi is always like that. At my place where the reception is non existent but the support can tell me that the internet and mobile call are both working perfectly at the mentioned point.

They always don't want to do anything.

Bandwidth had nothing to do with indoor coverage. Digi used band 8 refarmed band 8 for LTE while Celcom still using band 8 for 3G
*
Honestly I hardly see band 8 being deployed extensively, especially the indoor.

possibilities is there...
let's hope for the best..

I don't want the 4G deployment failure again for 5G...
I mean. name only 4G but the speed like 3G/EDGE only  bruce.gif

I feel that the LTE/4G in Malaysia has not reached its full potential, mainly because of lacking of fibre infrastructure to make every cell site fiberized.

haven't seen on any of my prepaid lines. prepaid usually receives less privilege.

Digi should not be selective at time like this. A small gesture does make a difference.

Now the allowed time to usage is left with only 3 hours but still can’t redeem the free internet.... how Digi is going to compensate us?

Why they can’t just auto include into everyone’s bucket?

It will be such an hassle for non tech savvy people...

Infrastructure capacity is there
If fully utilized and non fully utilized or monetized the maintenance cost is the same
Digi better sell more so can earn more
*
I would rather it stays away from the unlimited speed in order to maintain fair bandwidth for the rest of people.

The unlimited Youtube quota does it include Google Services too?

Since Youtube is also using Google video servers, accessing Google Services is also unmetered?
*
No. Every Google service is served with different addresses.
