Now I know why, problem is no credit history I think. No loan no CC before so bank cannot assess me. Any tips to get my first card approve in this kind of situation?
*
If you can give documents to support a salary/ regular income source, you can still be considered for your first cc. You may get a low credit limit to start with.
Do check that you meet the bank's minimum income requirement

This is good isn't it after the cash back for 12 months' tenure? Those that know how to calculate the real interest rate can advise?

If you take amount 30k, the interest over 12 months is RM1164.
Deduct the RM300 cashback earned, public bank still make profit RM864 from you. Worth to take?
*
No, not worth it. I've got it calculated for me, works out to be some 5.3% p.a.

what 5.3% pa, it is 3.88% pa for 12 months

but if u consider RM150 cb for RM15k or RM300 for RM30k, then the interest rate will become 2.88%
consider quite low for personal loan
*
3.88% is what's called the flat rate. Real rate or effective rate is different, it takes into account of the monthly repayment. Flat rate doesn't.

it doesn't matter effective or real rate, i just know they will charge 3.88% and divide into 12 months for repayment that's it
coc or bt won't give u back the interest if settle early, not like personal loan or mortgage
*
Yes that is how the monthly repayment is worked out. But don't just look at the advertised rate of 3.88%.
I would want to know the real rate so I can compare to a FD rate of say 2.3% per annum. Then it's not worth if the intention is to make money.
But if I want to cover an overdraft that charges me 6%, then yes it is worth it.

Sorry, are you doing business that needs a lot of cash flow?
Sorry to say this but I noticed you're really like this kind of installment products (CIP/COC, BT and EasyPay).
You're super active in the BT threads.

But only realised now I made a mistake. Applied for the Gold now noticed cash back is 4% for Platinum and 2% for Gold. Wonder if I can change/amend

Sent in application for PIBB on 9/4.
Yesterday's 14/4 IVR's message was "document pending".
Today 15/4 saw on eCCRIS application pending with a stated credit limit.
I did state at the time of application that they may reduce 50% of my Quantum card limit and allocate to the new PIBB card.
Hopefully it will be approved.

Before the "document pending" IVR message, it was "your application is successful" but when I clicked to speak to CS to find out if it's Gold or Platinum that's been approved, CS said cannot find my application!. So don't despair, you may get a twist as you had a call from PBB about delivery address etc,

Update: Just had a call from PBB to ask if it's ok that they give me 10K limit.
I told her to reduce my Quantum limit by half and allocate it to the new card.
But she said they won't touch the present limit.

Aiya bad news for my Quantum.
I have an instalment payment plan of RM250 for another 10 months so during this period I only need to find another RM350 to pay, not so difficult.
But after that will have to look really hard as by then I have to also take care of my statement balance thing at Affin!

This is bad news on 9.9!
Stable revenue stable profit but can't stand letting us earn RM30 a month!

not just revenue alone la, many reasons also

eg

1) policy change, eg BNM's payment reform
2) market condition
3) reduce risks & liabilities
4) maybe bank's reprioritization on card and merchant business leh
5) new products in the pipeline leh

I have PBB Quantum Master and PBB-i Master. The credit limit of my Quantum is twice of PBB-i. What I have done was ask for transfer of the credit limit so that the Islamic card will have twice the amount of credit limit instead. I have been emailed a form to fill in to state my request details. Now waiting for the outcome.
My plan is to cancel Quantum then apply for new PBB-i Visa so it will share the new higher credit limit with the existing PBB-i Master.

For PiB...between Visa and Mastercard, any difference?
*
The difference in the fixed features are:
Master gives 4% cashback on grocery and department store purchases (cap RM30) and 0% balance transfer.
Visa gives 4% cashback for online transactions (cap RM30) and 0% flexipay plan.
That's for Platinum.
For Gold, lower % cashback
