anyone received letter from PB regarding Conversion Exercise for Public Islamic Bank Credit Card-i from Shariah concept of Ujrah to Commodity Murabahah (via Tawarruq Arrangement)? what is this about?

Dear Valued Customers,

We are pleased to inform you that, Public Islamic Bank Berhad is in the process of enhancing its Credit Card-i product structure in line with Shariah developments and industry best practices. Accordingly, we intend to convert your Credit Card-i account(s) (including all supplementary card(s) issued under the account) from the existing Ujrah arrangement to a Commodity Murabahah via Tawarruq arrangement

Please note that the Conversion Exercise will not affect the nature of your Credit Card-i Account in terms of accessibility, account number, or operational functionality. Your account number will remain unchanged and no new account will be opened.

In relation to the conversion exercise, you are given the following options:
Agree to the conversion: Please sign the Acceptance Form and return to cmcardconvert@publicislamicbank.com.my



Disagree to the conversion :
i. Contact the Bank to cancel your Credit Card-i via the following:
Call at +603-2170 8000
Email at cmcardconvert@publicislamicbank.com.my
Visit the Bank’s servicing branch of your Credit Card-i Account
ii. Cancel your Credit Card-i and settle the outstanding balance


In the event that you have already responded to the Bank accordingly with regard to the Conversion Exercise, please kindly disregard this announcement.

Received twice. Already emailed the respond after the first letter, no acknowledgement

I think other banks also having similar thing... but only PB require manual submission.

they might change their way when too little submission. Or some cardholder should just ask them to repent and follow other banks.
