QUOTE(blackbox14 @ Jul 2 2019, 11:29 AM) CB650R is way beyond my budget. I was looking at the 2019 CBR500R. i was thinking of Ninja 650 but seeing the difference of inline 2 (iirc) and inline 4, gosh the sound itself made me changed my mind immediately and i notice ninja 650 vibrates a lot even quite a new bike ...Now deciding between 500R and Ninja 400 because of their similar performance. Hopefully can buy cash, because I'm not good at negotiating shop loans and they tend to be really expensive. |

i'm not really sure how to give a review but i try my best
height : 172cm weight : 84kg years of experience with a bike : 0 Appearance is based on personal view, for me i like it as it's modern and those LEDs are a point plus over others. Handling - pretty good even for a newbie like me and if compared to er6n in JPJ school, the kawasaki felt heavier but of coz it's a learning school's bike so i'm not sure how does a new 1 feels. Odometer - full digital display + gear indication (very important for beginner like me), time, trip A, tank capacity, RPM, speed, engine temp, etc etc Suspension - comfy, expect to hop on some uneven roads but didn't feel a thing (i guess this bike is heavier and doesn't bump up much on uneven road) Tires - no idea yet Clutch & Shift - pretty alright if you understand how to drive a manual car but the engine speed is totally different, the RPM doesnt dip but revs higher after changing gear (feels like auto throttle once you upshift) , adjustment needed on the gear lever to suit 1's preferable angle (for me normal sneakers is ok but once with boot, difficult to up/down as the boots are thicker), releasing is almost 2/3 of the clutch then only it moves, can be changed but up to personal choice. Engine - rev happy and torque is more than enough (imo), i pretty like it as whenever you need to rev, don't really need to downshift to get the power ... traction control, abs as standard. Brakes - sufficient although i haven't do any emergency with it yet, but so far so good. Weighs around 204kg (iirc) and it's pretty bulky (although slimmer from the prev gen) and not easy if you decide to park in head 1st, regardless flat road or not, i always do reverse in as getting out is pretty easier than reversing/pushing the bike (my 1st mistake i went head in and ended up pushing the bike out). One small little compartment, well actually u cant fit anything but a 250ml bottle confirm can. That's all i guess, if any1 got question just post and i will reply, P/s : wherever i go with the bike i'm always on full gear, Mesh Jacket with back pad, chest pad, elbow pad integrated, gloves with sliders, boots, knee and side shin pad, thigh protector and lower back protector, it's quite troublesome and bulky but i guess if you are a beginner better be safe than sorry. |

QUOTE(blackbox14 @ Jul 10 2019, 06:54 PM) Hey, glad to hear you're enjoying your new bike and thanks for the brief review. with sneakers 85% can, with boots 100% can ... either way flatfoot both feet not a good option as our roads are not that flat afterall, mostly i keep my right leg on the back brakes and left foot on the road while holding the clutch during traffic stops ... that's my way thou, some prefer front brakes and right leg on the road, but now i'm practicing to be at N and be quicker to start after the lights turn green. This is something I need to get used to as well. With my NMAX I can still get away with it to some degree, but once I change to something heavier, there's no room for mistakes. Good. That bike, while friendly, is still pretty fast and heavy. I don't recommend riding without gears. You could consider getting riding jeans or pants that have protectors in place of the pads though. My question: as a 172cm guy, can you flatfoot the bike on both feet? pants with integrated pads i did take a look, unfortunately size matters for the waistline and the length of the pants with big waistline, i'm not sure if can ask aunty tailor to alter it later as the material is kinda stretchable. QUOTE(skyblu3 @ Jul 10 2019, 07:42 PM) I've been riding big bikes for more than 25 years now. yes sir, unless if i go tapau food outside my house then maybe jacket only and sneakers. 2 mins ride only lolz, but if i go back to my workplace although 10mins away, i still wear full/half full Even until today, how pro I am...I will always wear my full safety gears whether I ride, wear like this even on my daily ride to work. Troublesome or not...safety first. When you are critically injured, you life will be more troublesome. Think about it. It will be too late by the time you regret for not wearing full safety gears. |

QUOTE(Kaboku @ Jul 11 2019, 10:31 AM) It is troublesome when you just want to go out for a ride but safety first. Usually will start sweating and swearing before going on the bike but safety is always more important. Do ride in your comfort zone and do not let peer pressure make you ride faster than your angel and experience sweating part is painful, luckily i bought a modular helmet, sometimes open up to wipe off the sweat on the face that tickles, lolzI too wear 90% of full gear (except pants) to work. I prefer to come out safe in an accident than spending few months in hospital recovering and going through physio. |

QUOTE(engrfeez @ Sep 30 2019, 09:55 AM) Bro previously u never ride? I also never ride quite more than 15yrs. Last using motorcycle during studied. Haha i nvr ride b4, totally 0, the heat is bearable, only the rain i suffer, i'm using mesh jacket + padding but no rain coat, so i avoid at all cost, furthermore rain in KL is crazy at times. However, lately im fed up due with the traffic which were very bad esp. in klang valley and drag my valuable time. So plan to get this bike for daily commute from Cyberjaya to KL. |
