I’m also contemplating to get myself a new Cbr650r now.

Zero experience with super bike.  Got few experienc with scooters in Krabi and Phuket.

Will I regret it?

And how easy is it to sell off once I get bored of this?
*
not accurate to call it a superbike,

production motorcycle used for fim world sbk championship, those are superbike.

should get those if ur dream is to ride a superbike.
bucket list ticked..

for this honda 650, the enjin is same as the old one wit abit tweaked to add ~2hp.
looks much more nicer with usd fork etc.

most will agree it is mild. a newbie with some 'sense' should hv no problem riding it. the riding position is not aggressive compare to racing bikes.

in this case, you wont know if you even like to ride a bike, n plan to commute to work.. traffic jam is no fun in kl..

get d L lesen first n buy a cheap used 'tank' bike to try.
c n feel how it goes.

the bike is good, traffic is bad.

with 4 front facing exhaust headers, it's definitely going to be hot. Not the worst kind but noticeable.

Kinda like the new CBR650 because of the pricing... but that dim Mars Bar-sized dash looks annoying to me personally.

The new 2020 Z900... now that's a proper dashboard.

oh is it? thank you for the clarification. perhaps as a noob easily kena scared by others. im thinking between the cb500x and cb650r.. they're not too far apart in the price range. only the prices on maintenance of 2 diff engines, 500cc vs 650cc, that i still have a lot to learn about it.

not just the cc, its 2 cylinder vs 4 cylinder. but honestly its quite a toss up. not that significant a difference. i think people generally make too much fuss about the maintenance difference when in reality you just dump your coin in your wallet each day into a tong and will get enough for the difference (unless you really eat up the miles la).

but if i have only one bike and use it to commute, i will probably pick the cb500x over the cb650r simply because i think box and panniers spoil the neo cafe look too much but look right at home on an adventure style bike.....

Thank you Karenalvin for the detailed explanation. Yeah I did thought about those. Will mainly use for city commute, but those boxes are nice to have for long distant too.

Okay, then I'll stick back to cb500x, just that the temptation of cbr650r is quite overwhelming. Perhaps for future upgrade then.

Front back...easily rm1100 - 1300 for a set of good tires

Shocking?
