MacOS has a built in VPN client. I tried this but there is something I am not getting. Once I select VPN it shows that I have set it but it is not connected. So, now I have to enter several other pieces of information. How do I learn what I need to enter there? Also, I don't understand what Cisco IP Sec is. Thanks This post has been edited by Lindaawilsoon: Sep 2 2019, 08:49 PM

there are many protocols for VPN.
it is easier to buy commercial VPN that comes with app for stable connection and have many great locations.
You should check with your VPN provider to do proper setup of VPN.

Surfshark is great VPN for MacOS. It's much cheaper and faster than mainstream VPNs. They own all their own servers all over the world. https://mytm.pw/lowyatVPNMacOSI learned about it at https://bestfirestickapps.com

You can build your own VPN. I think it's the most secure and better way.
