Can i install ikea kitchen cabinet but for the table top i choose outside from KC maker?

Yes you can.

I am doing that right now everything except the back splash plates and work top are IKEA.

My worktop and back splash plate comes from the same supplier as IKEA but is 25% cheaper minus the 25 year warranty.

Can I ask when do you guys start engaging the contractor for kitchen cabinet? Do you guys ask them to come to perform onsite measurement only after you get the keys for your house?
*
After you have keys and if you are doing any renovations in the kitchen such as tiling, plumbing, extensions or electrical then it should be after it is over.

QUOTE(solsekuin44 @ Aug 17 2020, 10:41 AM)
How long is too long for kitchen cabinet to be installed?
Mine started on July 4th, still waiting to be completed T-T
*
Measurement to complete installation should not be more than 3 to 4 weeks, allow for 12 weeks if it is one of the luxury German or Italian branded kitchen cabinets.

QUOTE(Ching Aik @ Aug 17 2020, 11:00 AM)
Have anyone try IKEA's cabinet?
Is their quality good?

@solsekuin44
I see they offer delivery + installation at extra cost, it is pre-made item so it is expected to fully install within same delivery day.
Not sure about customize cabinet though.
*
It is good quality for the price but if you are installing it on your own then you must definitely know what you are doing and also have the right tools for the job.

Overall as long as you clean up spills and keep it somewhat dry then it will last 20 years without any issues.

One of our houses was fitted with IKEA cabinets in 1999 and it is still in good condition.

Pretty good, I installed myself and it works fine. I like the options to upgrade the soft close drawers, and customisation options.

Yes should be possible. The mounting L brackets of your own countertop (to secure the top to the base cabinet) need to be obtained as well. You can order the top separately from those countertop stone supplier.

4th July started installing or 4th July started fabrication?

If 4th July started installing then that would be unusually looooong..

Yes their cabinets are higher than the locally made ones to cater for their cabinets being designed to an international standard.

You definitely can buy the doors, drawers as well as their hinges and fit it to one made by a KC contractor.

One of the houses my family owns did exactly just this, we liked the oak finishing for the doors, drawers and hinges but we did not care much for the white coloured particle board frames, therefore we bought what we needed and had a contractor build us the frames out of solid cengal wood to the exact dimensions of IKEA cabinets.

You can ask the installer to minus off the height about 6-8cm (i.e. using without plinth, and mount the rail lower for ikea base cabinets because there is a gap for the plinth/plastic legs) i.e. mount it so that the cabinets are floating with a height of 1-2cm from floor.

Have anyone here have experienced with HDF door kitchen cabinet. Its better then MDF. Its have unique shape that looks like wood cabinet.
I heard poeple said ikea cabinet also HDF.
Recently I got quote on 4g glass cabinet, but once i change the door material to HDF, the price increased around Rm1800 for 21 feet cabinet.
Just like to know that 4g cheaper compare to this HDF?

You may want to clarify what kind of wood they use under the lamination. There are many type of laminated wood that will influence the price.
RM19k seems fair to me.

If you will like to get a comparison quote do drop me a PM or whats app at 0164442413. I can provide you free 3ds even you not choose to build by me. Thank you

HDF is stronger and more water resistant than MDF. HDF normally have a density of more than 800kg/m3 while MDF normally will have 600-800kg/m3 density
4g glass is pricier than HDF door cabinet due to 4g glass use glass while HDF is fibre board.

Actually, i have changed the top to marble and backsplash to black glass mirror. Also I add on fancy transparent display shelves (opening-up type) plus few custom kitchen accesories like double trashbin and plate rack with drip pan. Surprisingly my final quotation is still around RM20K. (The marble top itself is around RM8K for 17ft run).

Not sure it is still high side now or not but the previous quotation was made high I believe. The final quotation I have now is after finalizing the plan with our KC contractor.

IKEA does not use HDF for the Metod kitchen cabinets. It is MDF.

4G glass finish for the cabinet fronts will always be more expensive.

Do you mean it Rm20k inclusive of the marble top? If yes I think the price is fair enough
