just want to ask, if i buy REIT, i'm going to do it for long term, have dividend as my consistent income. But sometimes it will drop also. So do i need to spare some money for margin call as well?

QUOTE(jasontoh @ Jul 15 2009, 10:55 PM) Then why worry about the margin call? IF you pay one lump sum, then you can just wait for postman to deliver cheque to you on and off. QUOTE(cherroy @ Jul 15 2009, 11:16 PM) I think you trade too much on futures already. In equities, once you paid, no more extra money needed to fork out, unlike futures can be unlimited hole one. After bought, what you concern is about the company ability to generate dividend to you or generate wealth to the shareholders, whether share price drop or rise doesn't dictate how much they will be paying. QUOTE(Jordy @ Jul 15 2009, 11:33 PM) debbieyss, OH I SEE....As what Cherroy mentioned, there is NO margin call like in Futures. You buy a stock, you pay after 3 days in full, and the stock is yours to keep forever (or until you sell). And of course, you will need to open a separate CDS account solely for shares. I got it... Thanks~! |

Got something to ask:
AXREIT Example: Bought 10,000 shares at RM1 = RM10, 000 Third Interim Distribution Dividend = 2.82 sen per unit, means 10, 000 X RM0.02.82 = RM282 Am I getting it correctly? |

QUOTE(kmarc @ Jan 26 2010, 08:35 PM) It should be the initial dividend rate before subtracting the 10% withholding tax to get the net dividend rate. Thanks~ So for AXREIT, how to get its Net Dividend? No matter how I count, I couldn't get the right figure... AXREIT Dividen Per Unit (Sen) - 15.27 Price - 1.82 Gross Dividend Rate (%) - 8.39 Net Dividend Rate (%) - 7.55 |

By the way, if purchase 10000 units of shares at RM1.82, then how much is the dividend?
10000 units X RM0.01527 = RM152.70 (Dividen Per Unit) How to get its gross dividend rate and net dividend rate? This post has been edited by debbieyss: Jan 26 2010, 09:00 PM |
