I'm thinking to replace the stock low-beam bulb for my Proton Iriz because it's not bright enough.

What option do I have?

go for stock / oem spec

night breaker can consider hid?

Not sure, I just want bulb that is brighter than the stock bulb.

But as the same time, I don't want to be an asshole blinding drivers' eyes.

try osram night breaker unlimited or phillip xtreme vision

start with phillip long life bulb 12972 LL bulb
phillip premium vision is brighter than phillip 12972 LL bulb
phillip xtreme vision (should be) brighter that those two

the question is, which bright do you want?

normal bright : phillip long life, osram original, bosch eco
brighter : philllip premium vision +30%
brighterer : phillip xtreme vision, osram night breaker

p/s: now i use phillip long life, later want to try phillip premium vision +30%

The brightest available that JPJ allowed, while not glaring other drivers.

Either performance bulb (OSRAM/ PHILIPS) or LED bulb
Performance bulb cost around Rm100 to Rm200, life span 1 year
LED bulb cost from Rm200 to Rm500 range or even high price, depends on the performance, life span can last few years
There is not against the law for changing the bulbs, even white color also not an issue.
As long as you don't go and mod/ retrofit into HID

as long not HID.

night breaker is not HID, still a halogen bulb.

potan say "Any lights that are fitted on later (retrofitted), lights that differ from the original ones that came with the vehicle, they’re illegal"

If u wan to be on the safe side, u can change to osram or philips brand high performance bulbs

OR

U can try led bulb which is brighter and has longer lifespan. since iriz headlamp is projector, i believe it wouldnt glares. u can try at shop before purchase

PIAA. They have lots of different models. The high end ones are really expensive.

You can have a look at Autobacs Klang too. Gotten my H1 bulbs there... Tried Night Breakers too and they were quite good. I'm currently using PIAA bulbs and so far, they're pretty good. Good luck with your search bro!

I’ve had good experience with Osram, Philips and PIAA on my previous rides.
When choosing halogen bulb, eventhough no JPJ issues when using 6000K bulb or so, stick to warmer colour like 4300K as the cool tint, even though looks nice from the outside, is crap when driving in the rain.
I ever used Philips Diamond Vision but replaced it Extreme Vision due to the former poor performance in bad weather

just go for some reputable brand like osram and phillip
if it is HID, they will mention HID
and HID has a special thing call ballast
that's why if JPJ suspect u using HID, they will pull u aside and ask u to pop the hood
they're in search of the "ballast" which every HID will have

bro mind to share how much you got for the h1? and is the bulb small..? my headlight h1 slot is very small and will not fit if the bulb is slightly bigger

Too bad Philips X-tremeVision Plus is not available in H11.

it's the reflector that makes the difference, light bulbs not going to help much, i have both alza and mazda 2, my alza with projector headlights is bright even if i use a cheapo bulb, but when i use a rm200 piaa bulbs in my m2, just slight improvement

Hmm, can't recall exactly but it was almost few hundreds for the Osram Nightbreakers. That was 3 years ago. I guess might be cheaper elsewhere but key thing is the installation. My car not easy to dismantle the headlamp assembly so Autobacs had that service and I was more than happy to pay for the convenience of having it replaced on the spot as one of my bulbs had fused.

H1 is standard I believe [not too sure about Iriz's headlamp assembly]. They just need to plug out from behind and it should fit snugly.
