Hi guys,

Previous old hdd got issue
I bought an ssd, tried quite some ways and finally made a bootable usb to install the Mac OS Mojave
After it got done, everything went smoothly
But after I restart
It got stucked on the boot and asking me to key in name and password
But I only can key in the name
Password unable to type
Even I moved my mouse or press tab
Just hang over there
Hard press power and on back
Sometimes hang on the same scene or boot into password recovery
Changing the password still the same

I tried internet recovery before this and still got into the same issue..
Anyone face this issue before?

Video of the issue

Thanks a lot in advance.. not really that familiar with macos yet..

Should be install not correctly, may I know which is the brand of 2.5 inch SSD you bought.
Maybe is when downloading the file corrupted.

I am using the crucial bx500
Quite difficult to create the bootable Mac OS pendrive.
Do you know of any ways to do it on windows? I don’t have other Mac OS device d

thanks on your reply
I think I know what is the issue now, previously created one Catalina bootable usb
erase and reinstall the Catalina and everything seems fine again
then I enabled the FileVault like always
then the same thing happens again, issue only bypass when I boot with command and option and p and r
but after that each restart still the same unless I reset the nvram

disable the FileVault encryption fixed the issue..
faint, is it my MacBook Pro can't handle the file vault? MacBook Pro mid 2012

will have to use it without the FileVault feature d..

you mean the filevault?
I believe Mojave the login issue was on the FileVault as well.

because when I didn't enable the FileVault I remember I could restart and boot in normally.

but I always enable it because I prefer it with better security

but still the same.

the Catalina is running alright right now while I am using it, everything seems alright , will disable beta and wait for the official update.
didn't expect the FileVault would cause all these issues, been trying this for a few days..

Try do not used with firevault, cause maybe your SSD wasn’t suitable for Apple encryption.
